In the strict sense no, perhaps, but in this case moral can be and almost surely is a codeword for looser tribal mores. You have to think in terms of voters activated by the slogan "Morals", rather than by any clear philosophical derivation of the word.
I'm betting that CBS did not define the word 'appropriate' in that sense to the 1,082 random people in that telephone poll.

Inappropriate to my mom means wearing shorts to Sunday church.

This is scary, I find myself not thinking too poorly of the judges idea. Did I get some muslim on me? Am I going to become a terrist?

You may not be muslim or terrist, but you're ed in the head if you agree with that judge.

That's a good example. It's inappropriate for an Al Qaeda sympathizer to build a 15-story, 100 million dollar mega mosque at Ground Zero.

Lots of class on both sides of that. So what? Congrats on showing that this is an emotional and often irrationally heated debate. Do you think this helps your anti-mosque position?

I actually understand the other side's viewpoint and don't think they have sinister motives -- just because I disagree with them. I wish the other side had the same respect and tolerance for the opposing viewpoint. I guess it's just easier to call people racists or islamophobes.

EDIT> And I was raised to never, EVER disrespect a person that age, regardless of their political ideology.

Wow, the mosque developers have really fostered some positive interfaith dialogue and "understanding"!

This was all foreseeable, IMO. I don't care if a mosque is built there, and I strongly support the developers' right to put whatever they want there consistent with the law. I'm disappointed in the public outcry against the mosque, but I'm not at all surprised. I doubt the developers are surprised, either.

Yes we saw the video you posted, and it's a huge stretch to go from those comments to al-Queda sympathizer...

A lot of you guys really hate hearing that American foreign policy helped create America hating terrorist organizations, but it doesn't make it untrue, and saying so doesn't make one a terrorist sympathizer. Otherwise there would be a lot of terrorist sympathizers in this country.

I mean, it's kind of like calling me a car thief sympathizer if I say you leaving your car unlocked in a shady neighborhood overnight might have contributed to your car getting jacked.

The most classless thing in that video was when the cameraman stalked that dude after the argument and said "BRO! BRO! How does it feel to blah blah blah..." as if it would help the situation at all. What a self-righteous -bag...if he had any ing balls he'd have stepped up to the plate earlier. Then he calls himself "an ordinary citizen." What spineless bull , someone take his youtube license away. Please.

The old man, who I'm sure is a pleasant dude when he's not protesting anything that he remotely thinks is related to Hamas, embarassed himself by saying the prayer room/community center would only be built over his and the other protestors dead bodies. That building is NOT worth dying over, and I have no idea how old one's mind must be depleted to think that is it worth two s in the long run. Hearing "God Bless America" at the end and knowing the context in which they played it hurt me and reminded me of how easy it is to fool people into thinking they are doing the right thing. It's quite easy to turn good people into zombies. Never forget.

And seriously, DarrinS, show us a youtube or newspaper quote with the Imam dude saying we deserved 9/11. All these wanna-be patriotic s pretend 9/11 means something to them as individuals but they only want to turn the world into "us vs them." I'm not saying it can't be "us AND them", at some point we have to seperate ourselves from crazy religious fanatics and dictators and human rights violators, but when both sides are full of loonies there's no reason to stand on the "US" side or the "THEM" side and I just wanna say " you all, you greedy s" and take my kids and baby mammas to live with me somewhere in Tahiti for the rest of my life.

    .

PS: Oops on the DarrinS "we deserved it" quote. I didn't notice clambake was the one quoted. But really, please show us where the Imam dude has been a terrorist sympathizer.

Hurt feelings because your adversaries lack tolerance for your differing viewpoints?

Boo ing hoo. Since when did you ever care about tolerance and respect, mister fister?

So essentially these misguided supporters are claiming that this Imam and the people behind the mosque project are not faithful followers of the Quran?

I posted specific, clear as day statements from the Quran, mandates and duties to every muslim.

Islam is a violent, intolerant religion to it's core, period. The objective is quite clear - to spread Shari'a Law to every part of the globe, and to do so by LYING is perfectly ok.

This is why a muslim can quote you a "peaceful" earlier quote from the Quran, but ignore telling you the later violent quotes. He can lie right to your face. He can do whatever he wants to protect Islam and help to spread it.

Are any of you familiar with the fundraising scandals in the United States? An example - a muslim group raised money in the USA for children abroad, and turned around and gave the money to fund terrorist organizations.

They can do this and be COMPLETELY WITHIN THEIR RELIGION'S ETHICS.

This is why barely any muslim will come out and condemn Hamas or Hezbollah.

Even this Imam behind the Cordoba project has refused to condemn Hezbollah.

Glenn Beck said the same thing.

    I can't believe you haven't seen it.
