You know you've lost the argument when you have to resort to personal insults. Thanks for playing, now move along.
I never claimed that Spanoulis would be an all-star either, but these morons are trying to find an excuse to bash him. Haters are going to hate. Other than maybe G Hill V-span would have been the best back up pg we had in a long time, but he turned his back to the NBA, that's why they hate him. He also destroyed the Dream Team, but "he got lucky that night" LOL as you can see there is not much to like about this guy... but these morons dont even have the dignity to the real reason they bash him B/C he beat the US team and gave a big middle finger the NBA.
I can guarantee you if he ever decides to play for the spurs, he will be fan favorite the very next day --just like he was in Houston.
You know you've lost the argument when you have to resort to personal insults. Thanks for playing, now move along.
I usually lead with the personal insults. Then I compare my opponent to Hitler.
None of those quotes involved insults directed against other posters.
Your post did.
Thanks for playing.
Move along.
sure, sure I guess insults directed against non-posters and/or players (i.e. ppl that can't insult you back) are non-personal. Whatever makes you happy man.
For the purposes of this board, yes.
Do you think differently?
Please explain.
Unless that particular player is reading this forum, it is not personal to any of the people reading this forum....hmm...can't be that difficult to figure out.
if you read this thread you either bashed or seen other posters bashing Spanoulis, I called these people morons and idiots. Then Mel 1313 enters the discussion saying; When Some People Can't Win An Argument, They Resort To Personal Attacks Against Their "Opponent".
You can argue all day long about semantics of the form personal insult and miss the whole point, Mel 1313's words of wisdom should directed towards these morons not me.
Do you really expect me to reason with a guy that posts
that guy is a moron.Temple >>> Vaginis
LOL what a moron. jason that is.
In this WC, Spanoulis was good against bad teams and bad against good teams. It certainly doesn't help his case in changing the idea that he just isn't good enough to play in NBA.
Hate to admit it, but homerism aside, Dragic was the same. His only two decent games came against Tunisia and Iran. Hope he steps it up, the expectations were really high.
Given the analogy, the NBA is Rome. He was never second in Rome.
Heh... you pretty much summed it up. "It's better to rule in , than to serve in heaven." Spanoodless had a chance to be a member of the Spurs team. Instead, he chose to slink back to Greece. Big fish, small pond - whatever you want to call it. Spanoodless himself knew that he didn't have the talent to stand out here, so he went where he could stand out. He got it... why don't you?
Dip .
Better to be the biggest fish in a small pond if you're afraid of being eaten.

What did this game do to change that idea?
lol good one, he leads Greece over US, he leads Greece to a metal in the last Euro, he leads his team to a Euro league le, and earns mvp honors, he plays poorly against turkey... and he is a talentless piece of .
Most of these morons would never have left Greece in the first place, can't leave this piece of art behind.

nice try superstar, TP was a starter and then benched in 05. According to you he ll never ever make it to the NBA.
Nothing.
Spanoulis is nowhere near the level he had in 05-06. What matters is what he is doing now.
Spurstalk being a big pond??
What a wonderfull world!

Why do people argue over what Spanoulis would have brought to the Spurs, when we never traded for the player, we traded for that contract, which was about to be void and we would never have traded for him had it been a different case. It's not like he decided to go back to Greece after he was traded to the Spurs - he was traded for BECAUSE he had decided to go back and void that contract.
He was never a Spur and will never be a Spur.
Exactly.
Even his most enthusiastic supporters in this thread have agreed that he doesn't project as anything more than an NBA mediocrity. They believe that their delusional obsession with one game in the summer of 2006 is shared by the masses and accounts for the antipathy towards Spanoulis on this board. That is hilarious.
Spanoulis would never be mentioned on this board except for one bizarre phenomena. Without this, there would be virtually no discussion of Spanoulis, the Greek NT, or Greek basketball:

What? Who is TP? Spanoulis played in 31 games and never started. Anyone who was a starter isn't relevant to the conversation.
