Kobe only scored 50 points once in the playoffs though...For a guy on track with the most playoff games played, that's pretty disturbing.

FWIW, did'nt Kobe drop 50+ on the nuggets too? I remember that game when JR Smith opened his mouth, Kobe answered with 53 if i'm not mistaken.

The 55 on MJ and the Wizards, PJ yanked him in the 3rd just to save MJ from going through further embarrassment. That's the game in my sig which was in the second quarter.

LMAO.. i remember that game, Kobe spanked them so bad, he could have easily scored 60 if he wanted to... he had nine 3 pointers in that game also

I think that was the game in the Playoffs where Kobe scored 49 points and also had 10 assists in that game when JR Smith opened his mouth.

How is that disturbing? The playoffs are about winning and Kobe is a proven winner. The tempo of the modern game also slows down in the playoffs and it's a lot more half court basketball, moving the ball and milking the clock to find the best shots.

Do this for Michael Jordan vs. Oscar Robertson, Wilt Chamberlain. , you can even do one for LeBron James too.

Your point is that Jordan put up better numbers and averages in his era? Well done then.

No, if you weren't a ed Lakerfan, you'd realize his point is that Michael Jordan is a better player than Kobe Bryant.

I don't give a how old he was, jackass. MJ made the mistake of trying to show Kobe up in the house that Kobe built, and Kobe busted his ass for it. The Pistons didn't give a about Kareem being 40 when they busted his old ass, so why should we care about MJ being so stupid to come out of retirement to try and prove something in Kobe's era.

I was at that game, and I remember MJ during warm-ups walking around like he was going to give LA one last glimpse of how great he was. He started off on fire hitting 5-6 shots. The tongue was wagging, the swagger was going, and all of a sudden, Kobe snapped. MJ refused to pass the torch, so Kobe snatched it from his ass that night. That was Kobe simply telling MJ... THIS IS MY LEAGUE NOW.

    THIS IS MY LEAGUE NOW.
But it was still Duncan and Shaq's league then.

It didn't become Kobe's league until Duncan and Shaq found themselves on the wrong side of their respective primes.

I'll give Kobe credit for dominating the post-Duncan/Shaq era. Beating teams like the recent Jazz, Suns, Nuggets, and Yao-less Rockets is no easy feat. Not to mention defeating those Finals juggernauts in a Dwight "I have no post-game" Howard led Orlando Magic and a 50 win Boston team filled with has-beens who lost their starting center for game 7.

This must really burn your ass to see Kobe come into the league before Duncan, three-peat during Duncan's prime, and continue to be the best player in the league going back2back well after Duncan has been washed up and finished.
But Shaq was the main man during the three peat. Truth is, a Kobe led team has never ringed during Duncan's prime. On the other hand, Duncan led teams scored three O'Briens (I'll concede that Kobe wasn't in his prime in 99. Oh, but you just said he was the best player in the league in 99, so let's make that four O'Briens) during Kobe's prime.

Now that has to burn your ass.

No one recognizes a strike year. And according to you, Manu led that team since 05. I'll concede that Duncan got lucky a few times. He never defended his le so no one will remember his efforts. Much like Bird is overshadowed by Magic, the same goes for Kobe over Duncan. In fact, since Duncan is retired, let's not talk about him... he's history.
Didn't say that. Quit twisting my words. I said Manu's been the closer since '05. And he would get the ball late because he's a great FT shooter. It'd be foolish not to put the ball in his hands when the other team is in intentional foul mode.

Yeah, he got lucky bookending the 3 peat, beating your supposed "Kobe-led" Lakers twice enroute. Then he finished the job on those Pistons that whooped the "official" Kobe-led Lakers the year previous. Didn't Kobe shoot something like 35% in that series?
