Kobe's surely better than MJ, tee hee
So kobe>Jordan? Yes or No?
Kobe vs Jordan. People just bring this up to divert attention from whatever the subject is that they don't like because Kobe vs Jordan is the only card left in their deck. It's funny how haters invariably have to chime in on every Kobe thread with trying to negatively compare Kobe to Jordan. Do they really think this is an insult?

If you're pissed off, then just put these people in your ignore list, tee, hee
Depends on the ref, but I'm pretty sure Kobe would get raped.
This. MJ was 40 years old and walking on one leg and a young Kobe could finally shine. Seriously, why the f*ck do you need such an idiotic stat, Laka? If Kobe had done this during Jordan's prime, fine. But he didn't. Don't get me wrong: Kobe has been an excellent scorer and tremendous player during the last decade. I don't hink he will drop off soon. But Laka, to get a over such a "feat" of scoring 55 against an old MJ who has come out of retirement twice is just ridiculous.

So what I take from this topic is that Kobe Bryant is good at scoring.
Who would have thunk it?
Don't hurt 'em luva!![]()
Who was going to get the ball for LA - even during Shaq's prime - at the end of quarters and playoff games? It surely wasn't Shaq. Kobe has been the Lakers' closer since at least 1999 - or if you want to count his airballs against Utah when he was a rookie - have at it.
Bottom line up front: Kobe was ready to take over as the man for LA as early as 2000. Knowing Shaq would have been butthurt, PJ refused. It wasn't until Shaq decided to rest on his fatass laurels and gain 100lbs that PJ finally relented and gave Kobe the keys to the offense. That was with a prime Shaq, Malone, and Payton on the squad.
I still remember Kobe going through the trial of his life during the day, take a jet to a playoff game that night, then dropped 30+ on some unassuming defender (talk about mental toughness).
& the vast lion's share of game 6.
tee, hee.
and who was the main man in the playoffs against your beloved Spurs those years? Shall we post the evidence?
Sarcasm is an art form pulp. You failed miserably.
So why do you recognize a game during a strike year?
I agree with you with Shaquille being the main man in those three peat teams, but if you were to give an MVP award to one player in the real 2001 NBA finals between the Spurs and the Lakers, who would it be? Obviously Bean Bryant. Was totally the best player on the floor and dominated with Shaquille on the floor and when he was on the bench.
If you check on my list again, you'll see Kobe career high against Spurs in the Playoffs ( May 19th, 2001 he scored 45 points in the WCF, 5 days before that on the 13th, he had 48 points to close the Kings in the semifinals... That year, IMO Kobe was the best player in the Playoffs, he was a beast in the playoffs and i though he should have been MVP in the finals too...
Young Kobe was so underrated.
Almost useless trivia: the only team against which Kobe's playoff high exceeds his reg season high is San Antonio.
I'm curious about the shot count for those games...
San Antonio has never conceded a 50 point game to anyone since Robinson's rookie year...
How did you get those numbers? I'm almost sure that if Iverson hasn't score 40+ on every team in the NBA too, he must be missing just a team or two.
Shaq. If you weren't a dumb Laker fan, you'd understand why Kobe was perceived as "the main man" in the 01 and 02 series.
Only a Kobe fan would think that a player who shot in the mid 40s when another player on the same team is dropping 30+ppg and 15rpg in the same series should be Finals MVP.

grey spurfan showing lakers fans the way!![]()
Did you feel full of win typing out that cliched reply?
But yeah, I am showing you morons the way since it's evident you don't know the history of your own franchise.
