Bulls ass you didn't. You talked about a QB calling his own plays like it was obviously the best way to run the offense and the fact Romo didn't is appalling, even tho 31/32 teams have someone other than the QB calling plays.
Never once did I say, "The Colts team is the recipe for success."

So in your book no QB other than Peyton is a "true QB"?
Nope. I didn't say that either.
While I don't like the Patriots, I admire Tom Brady's playing abilities. And he doesn't get pushed around out there either.

  3. #203
When someone asked why we are throwing on 3rd and 1 you said bc its Romo implying that Romo calls the plays?

    Am I missing something?

He also lets the coaches call the plays. I guess that makes him a puppet.

I'm pretty sure he wouldN'T just sit around and agree to a silly call like that.

what? Idk how many re ed empty backfield formations on 3rd and 1 he had to play with last year (that 4th and 2 play against the Colts a prime example). It's not his job to call the plays, he's supposed to execute what he's given.

I guess we're just going to have to agree to disagree.
I'm not impressed with Romo. I have never been impressed with Romo. And I'm pretty sure he will never do anything to impress me.
That's just the way it is.

Romo could be a top 3 QB if he is coached and used properly. He does choke often, however, he has the tools.

BTW, is there anyone that has been over hyped more than Dez Bryant? I recall the announcers saying, "They don't want to give Dez Bryant a chance to return that punt." and then he proceeds to be extremely re ed and waste 15 seconds and lose 16 yards by not letting the ball go in the end zone. He has the potential to be Kevin Dyson. Nothing more.

I don't like Romo maybe because I'm biased towards the cowboys. It is true he chokes, like Manning, like Favre all considered great QB.
All he needs is ONE ring, continue to pad his stats, and all the choke job will be forgotten.

Dallas is not well coached, players like Romo are not being served well right now. He is good enough to smoke the Texans, isn't he?

Are you saying Dez should not catch a punt deep with 29 seconds in the game? What if the punt (caught outside the 10) does not get in the end zone?

Dez is not even close to Kevin Dyson, Texans fan. Please. You're smarter than that.

He caught a tough 40 yard TD and had a 40 punt return that was called back by another brain dead penalty. He played hurt and made some big plays. He will continue to get better as he gets healthier.

Bruce Gradkowski smoked the Texans. Smoking the Texans means nothing. I could probably go in there and throw for 300+ against that defense.

That's true. Dez is not even close to Kevin Dyson. Kevin Dyson had a long, somewhat successful NFL career. Dez has yet to do anything to help his team win games. At this point Dez is more like Freddie Mitc .

That ball was not caught outside the 10. He caught it at the 5, ran around like a dumbass for 15 seconds and then got thrown down at the 6. That is not smart football.

Romo is not very good, but he is able to put up stats. He consistently throws the ball too low or behind the receiver. He can't throw a lead pass to save his life.

They were going to lose anyway . . . he took a gamble to make a big play and it didn't work. It's not a big deal. The Cowboys have much bigger problems than that. Talent is not the problem.

Regardless he has to be smart enough to put his team in the best position possible. 35 seconds left at the 20 to get in field goal range is a much smarter option than 15 seconds and the ball at the 6.

I'm not going to rag on a rookie for a late game mistake. Thats on coaching all the way, but pretty much 90% of the cowboys problems stem from coaching.

    this is so true tbh.

i'm sure many cowboy fans remember the famous Skins game earlier this year. on the last drive, if he hits Austin in stride on the last drive he walks in the endzone and sends the Skins to talk to the oll ball coach. instead he throws it behind him causing Austin to slow down.

Romo will never be considered one of the all time greats precisely because he does wet his pants in big games. This is why he is known as one of the games' great chokers. Because of this Romo winning a ring is about a million miles away from happening.
