I love watching games where Manu has fresh legs. It makes for phenomenal basketball. Hopefully he'll be able to get plenty of rest this season and be Manu-esque late in the year.
couldn't have said it better myself. what an uplifting and great first game.

We dropped 122 points tonight. Encouraging to say the least. Why not be the Phoexix Suns of the West?

Read what I said in my previous post. I said he started out horrible but had a nice game overall. Reading is fundamental.
Watch the game over again in replay because you're still wrong. He had a fine game from start to finish. He didn't explode with points/assists late in the game, he was consistent throughout.

Pretty good game by everyone. Bonner and Simmons were the ball and chain tonight. Good thing they didn't get too many minutes.

I already see some horrific turnover nights while this new style of offense busts its chops...

    That being said....I like it.

Big 3 looked great. Grizzly started well then got shot happy, and he really needs to work on his D. Hill found his form in the 4th. Anderson looked like a solid veteran, as did Dice (because he is!). And yes, I'll give some props to RJ - solid game from him.

Overall, a very enjoyable first win of the season.

The last time the Spurs scored this many pts in an opener, the man two seats to my left (Sean Elliott) was playing. 1994-95.

He wasn't awesome, but 18 and 9 isn't anything to cry about.
Hyperbole master. I was crying? I just said I did not think he played that well, despite the numbers.

He had some really, really rough stretches. I also said surprising, because I expect a lot from him this year.

When Manu is healthy, he's more fun to watch than anyone else I've ever seen. I'm so glad he came to the Spurs.

TD and Manu were great the whole game

RJ looks better than last season on O, much more agressive and his J looks good

Hill with a great 2nd half. TP was good but I think he can get even better

Anderson played well, passed up some shots but good play in the 1st game

Blair D is still bad but let's hope it'll improve during the season
I agree with all that. TP had a good game overall IMO. He's looking good to me. He could have played better, but I loved his aggressive play. George had a great second half. Great comeback George!

Blair has to get better on defense. If he can't get better than he can't be anything more than an energy guy on a Championship contender. You can do it DB, just get working at it. D is the main thing Dejuan needs to work on most.

Good stuff. As morbid as it sounds, with Bonner out at least we might see more of Tiago which is a good thing for a rookie with his potential.

Pretty impressed by that Hibbert guy, dude's like a younger Big Z that was on fire..

Run n' gun for 3 quarters, lockdown d in the 4th. I could get used to that.

Even though it was against the Pacers, its always nice to score 120+ on any team...Impressed by the up and down offense...Defense seem to get better...However, I was very impressed with Hibbert's game tonight...Big improvement...Made some nice moves in the paint. All in all one of the teams had to start missing shots and fortunately it was the Pacers...Good game!!! Go Spurs Go.

The Spurs committed 14 turnovers, and got 15 steals. Seriously? More steals than turnovers? I'm trying to remember if I've ever seen that.

Hibbert reminds me of a poor man's Duncan. Solid post game and rebounder, good footwork, was able to show the jumper.

I don't think we can expect this same output on a regular basis. The defense of the Pacers was not exactly the bad boys.

TBH, that is all that really matters. If you have guys that can lock you up on defense when it counts, that goes a long way, even if they take some plays off.

But I still don't think that is the case with the Spurs, although tonight was very good.

Also, when I asked "how did the lead balloon", it was a rhetorical question guys

Tony played fine. Scored when we needed him to and facilitated when we had other guns on the court. He did look like he tried to force a few things early but he settled in nicely and everyone played off him well. that's what you want.
