pop overplaying bonner again, surelly some splitter might give magic a different look, bonner gets schooled more than anyone on the spurs
i don't even feel like the spurs are winning. i guess a bunch of lucky shots by the magic can demoralize you.
This is amazing. We have waited years to get Tiago, a 7 foot athletic big who can D up...yet we continue to play The Red T-Rex.

Maybe I'm losing my mind, but I recall the two possessions where they went to Rashard while Hill was guarding where 1) he scored on the first, 2) he pass to Bass who drove and scored since Bonner was double-teaming Rashard...
Pretty lucky were up by 1, hopefully we fix this though because its usually a matter of time..
Pop has lost his mind. 6-2 Hill on Lewis, seriously? Why not try McDyess or (preferably) Splitter? If they run Lewis off screens and those two have trouble navigating their way them through and get burned, fine, you can always go away from that match-up immediately, like he did Blair. But to not even try it? I don't get it.
Also, I'd have prefer he keep Ginobili's minutes down a bit. I don't understand why Parker, who's five years younger, plays about the game a lot of games (slightly higher on average). I'd rather play Parker and Jefferson an extra minute if it saves two minutes for Ginobili, particularly in the first half.
Howard's strength bothers Duncan, but Duncan's length bothers Howard.

I wouldn't mind seeing Splitter playing with McDyess. McDyess has the midrange jumper that can space the floor for Splitter to work in the low block. Plus McDyess is a smart vet that can only benefit Tiago on the floor both now and down the road as Tiago can learn on the fly how to be a smart defender.
Bonner is actually in there fighting for rebounds - one of them ripped away from Dwight Howard.
Are you guys really this dense? Who says Pop is playing Bonner instead of Splitter? Last game he played Splitter instead of Dice. And Duncan only has 1 rebound to Bonner's 2. I guess Pop should bench Duncan in favor of Splitter because that'll improve the rebounding.
What do you expect? Pop only trusts 3 bigs on this team.

I thought he did a good job of fronting him....I only remember him hitting one shot when Hill was guarding him. That was a lob pass and Bonner barely got out on help D to contest. The rest of the time Hill was hustling to stay with Lewis and denying him the ball.
I don't mind Bonner playing, but if that means that Tiago gets 9 seconds the whole game there is something wrong. Instead of Bonner and Dice play Tiago and Dice, then play spot minutes with Bonner and Duncan on the floor.
Ive seen nelson hit a few those the pass few seasons, hes pretty confident with those.
Too bad we don't have Belinelli over ginobili. We'd probably be up 20 points by the half if we did. Belinelli is just such a god damned elite shooting guard in this league. Maybe even top 3 behind kobe and wade.
You're straight blind if you don't understand why Splitter would be better suited against the Magic. He plays ing defense ffs. Or are you one of those who argue his 3's will offset his piss poor defense?
