Actually, since he played 26 last night, it's still 6-2 when less than 20 and 12-1 when over that mark.
6-2 .750
12-1 .923
Even though they are both winning marks, 12-1 is CLEARLY a much better percentage.
I'm not anti-Blair or anything but this season these numbers don't mean much. So far this season Blair has been playing clean-up. If we have the game in the bag, he's in. Otherwise it's Bonner or McDyess getting the minutes and Blair sits. So it that respect, Blair getting more of his minutes in our blowout games-whether he had anything to do with the blowout or not.

I hope this means Blair is working his way to securing a regular rotational spot on the team and (hopefully) Splitter's gradually increasing minutes will be taken from the ginger.
It must be killing you that the Spurs are winning, despite Bonner getting steady minutes.
Im havent kept stats on this, but does anybody else notice Pop is using blair more with certain matchups and pulls him fast versus other matchups?? Correct me if im wrong, but isnt most of his 20+ min games versus scrub teams?
Despite not playing consistent minutes of late. That's very impressive.
Yes and this is all good when Blair is getting worked ie vs perimeter Fs that Blair cannot handle. Has not been the case lately.
No and Yes. The Spurs have only played 7 games against current .500+ teams. So for that matter with our Lakerlike early scheduling (altho our brutal back to back away games are not at the AT&T vs the San Antonio Clippers) the entire Spurs roster has gotten most of their minutes vs scrub teams.Correct me if im wrong, but isn't most of his 20+ min games versus scrub teams?
Here is Blair vs .500+ teams:
Opponent Min W/L
NO 3Xs 38L 7W 29W
OKC 16W
Chi 11W
Utah 28W
Ave about 21 min per game altho as you can see a mixed bag 38hi 7low.
There's a cause vs correlation issue here. Blair gets the minutes because the Spurs are playing teams that don't trounce them early. Would the Spurs win these games regardless? I could find stats to show how often the Spurs win when I shave the day prior, and they could be undefeated. So does that mean I am affecting the game? Of course.
Doubters looking stupid, as expected.
Teams don't trounce the Spurs early because they can't. DeJuan is part of that.
Oh, and BTW, nice use of his true and proper nickname.![]()
Blair is becoming part of that. Don't act like the team's success has rested on Blair's minutes. It hasn't.
It looks like Blair is starting to find his comfort zone. Nice to see.
He sucked early, and now he doesn't suck.

Thank you sir.
And here's to your picking that nickname.![]()
RIF. Way to make up I didn't say.
I don't get why people here wish Blair was taller. If Blair was taller he would have been a top 3 pick and burning the Spurs not putting up double doubles for them as he has lately.
Blair beasting takes the Spurs to another level and allows Splitter to come along more slowly as long as Dice and Bonner are at least serviceable.
Yes, I really enjoy watching Blair play ball. I know a lot of people hate him on here, but he's been doing really great with the boards and points recently. Blair has really helped the Spurs with certain games this season.
correlation does not imply causation
Could it simply mean that Blair gets more minutes when the Spurs are leading- as in you have the cause and effect backwards?
Correlation does imply causation, but it does not equal causation.

A good day's "meh." to your fallacious statement, sir.
From your own link:
"In closing, let me be a bit picky about the meaning of the word 'imply.' Today this word is used most often to mean 'to hint' or 'to suggest' rather than 'to have as a necessary part.' Accordingly, I argue that correlation does imply (hint at) causation, even when the correlation is observed in data not collected by experimental means."
Please don't be silly and tell me by "imply," you meant the use of that word in the technical, statistical sense.
10 games into the season - even though Blair was still struggling - you couldn't help but imagine what it would be like if he got his groove back. This team would be SO deep, esp, once James Anderson comes back. Well we might not have to imagine for long, Blair is playing his best basketball of the season.
