Really, it could have been Parker or Manu this week. Manu was more explosive and clutch but Tony has been churning out points and assists lately.

And don't forget people, Duncan went off for 28-16-4 with 4 blocks earlier this week too, maybe the best performance by any Spurs player this season.

There's rarely a game where I don't say, at least a couple of times, "how in the did Tony get that one to go" or "jesus christ he's a blur". He runs like the road runner and defenders just act like he's going to bring it out but he goes through everyone on the floor and finds just enough room to get the ball through the arms, and up it goes and into the basket as he's on his back on the floor behind the backboard. Everyone else slows down on their approach, this guy has one gear, full throttle. He even shoots at full throttle and if that's not enough, he lays out to get that extra burst of speed at the end.

I don't see how writers ignore him so much, he's unbelievable.

It's hilarious to watch defenders backpedaling, and they are at the top of the key while Tony hasn't crossed half court, but Tony doesn't slow at all, and you see the panic in these guys' faces as they try to recover but it's always too late.

It was a of a game for him numbers wise, but Manu was a man on fire for a long stretch there... what a difference that guy makes in the final few minutes of a game.

It's great when you have several players that you think qualify for the player of the week, on the same team. These one man shows like Kevin "the ing beast" Love are great, but the team doesn't win because of him. He needs to come to the Spurs.

    Last week :

    Ginobili : 19 pts, 47% FG%, 18,7 3P% 5,66 ast, 4 reb, 2,33 TO, 1 stl,
    Parker : 25,5 pts, 56% FG%, 50% 3P%, 8,66 ast, 2,33 reb, 2 TO, 1 stl

Ginobili more clutch but Parker better overall this week

That's among the things I don't like about the NBA, analysts give too much credits to the stats...

Tony deserves credit for his great week, but nothing deserves more credit than clutch plays and buzzer beaters!

What's the point of playing well if there is no W in the end?

If Bonner hit two game winners would he be player of the week?

Manu's plays were unbelievable, but Tony was the reason we were even in that Denver game, and the reason we beat Memphis.

What's the point of being super clutch when your team is down 20 at 3 minutes of the end because you are 1/7 and with 2 or 3 TO ?

Anybody who watched the games last week saw that Ginobili had a couple of games where he was great only at the end. And without TP theses games would have been already over.

It's not just statistics.... You can't be the MVP (of the week, team or whatever) if you show up only in the last 5 minutes

It's not a shot at Manu, he deserved the player of the week a lot of other weeks and had very few bad games this season. But last week he was not the spurs MVP IMO

Ask Manu. He will undoubtedly say he had bad games but was able to contribute in key moments, but that Tony kept the Spurs in the game. It's not like Parker hasn't done it before. He just rarely gets any credit for it.

The part that's often forgotten is that Parker scored his 37 points against the Grizzlies on 71% shooting (including a 3-pointer). You read that right.

You know times are good when we can argue which player deserves the player of the week award.
