I'd like to troll spurs fans, but I'm not going to be re ed to do it; Duncan's advanced statistics are all of the charts. He's playing like an All-Star tbh.

Spurs run a 106 ppg pace

Lakers ran a 118 ppg pace.

Duncan is playing 29 minutes so he's rested for playoffs.

Kareem led his team in minutes played that year and averaged 33+ per game.

Soooo he was getting more possessions in more minutes against weaker compe ion, and you wonder why he was scoring more than Duncan?

By the way, your stats are wrong. Kareem averaged 22 and 8, not 24.

I agree with you except for the bolded. I would hardly call any contending team in the '80's inferior compe ion. The league wasn't watered down with the likes of the Hornets, Heat, T'Pups, Grizzlies, or Magic. They also didn't have high risers that could dunk go straight to the pros from HS either. In other words, compe ion was fierce. None of that pussy ass flagrant foul either. So for Cap to even give the Lakers 22/8 at age in the above cir stances dwarfs what TD is doing right now by 3 country miles .

And LMAO about "the more you know" pic. That's some funny .

It's not the same LF. We're talking about a league where opposing players already have a decided advantage due to the way the NBA favors offense over defense. Couple that with the fact that for most of TD's career, the pace of the game has favored ball-possesion overall and had placed the greatest emphasis on Duncan's ability to create out of the low-block. He didn't get any runout layups like Magic gave Kareem. He wasn't allowed to take a shot early in the clock, nor was he allowed to leak towards his basket on defense. I've watched Kareem, got to meet him once, had his poster on my wall. Is one of the best players of all-time and that skyhook hasn't been replicated at any level since. Sure players can jump hook, but not like Kareem could. That said...Tim's playing possum. For that to be effective, you have to look DEAD, when in reality, YOU CAN GET UP AND RUN THE WHOLE TIME if you wanted to.

Fair enough MIB. For your sake I hope that TD is coasting. He probably could be 17/10+ if Pop played him more so the 13/9 is a little deceiving (funny though ). It is smart to play TD limited minutes throughout the year and have Manu/TP do the heavy lifting during the RS. That way in the offs, if TD is in foul trouble, Manu/TP already have an idea on how to carry your team. However, the big elephant in the middle of the room that you guys are ignoring is Bonner and Blair. They are not on the level of LO, Pau, or Bynum and that is a major impediment that TD will have to somehow overcome for you guys to win. At his age and health, I don't see it happening for you guys. Y'all need to go out and trade for some size. In the offs it will be a halfcourt game. Those 3's that are raining for you guys will be few and far between once a team takes away what you want to do.

On a 36 min bases TD is averaging 17.1ppg, 11.7rpg, and 2.6bpg. It's obvious he has significantly declined but if he's given the minutes he can easily average a double-double with 15+ points.

This is exactly what all these trolls are missing the point on. No one in the Spurs organization, including Tim Duncan care about how many PPG or RPG he has on a nightly basis. The main focus since perhaps 2007 has been to rest our top 3 players and keep them injury free. 23-3 with Duncan playing 29 minutes a game? haha this is when you know all these guys are trolling, they should all be scared come playoff time.

Duncan's PER is nearly 23, his win shares per 48 rate is exceptional, and his +/- is awesome. He's still one of the best big men in the league. He's declined a little, but its nothing to be concerned about. Its a shame many Spurs fans are so dumb and easily trolled.

See, once in awhile...it's actually possible to talk hoops OBJECTIVELY with fans of opposing teams. This is how it's done.

Spurs fans are more trollable than any fanbase I've ever seen, which shouldn't be the case, considering SpursTalk probably has more trolls than any other NBA team forum..

The trolling isn't even strictly from other posters, too..Spurs fans allow themselves to continuously get unintentionally trolled from media outlets all the time, obsessing over "respect from the media" and whatever..it's sad..

Only Laker fans are more defensive than Spurs fans, and even that's arguable..

son I really am happy for Spurs fans. I have a lot of respect for that organization. The way Manu and Parker took over the team leadership from Duncan in 2007 is worthy of respect. This is not meant to bash Duncan, but just simply expose the facts. He had one of a 10 year run as the Spurs best player, but those days are long gone. It just sucks to see him falling off so quickly at such a young age. This started whenever he was only 30 years old.
Son, I'm glad you respect the team.

duncan only plays 29min a game this season which says a lot. he just doesn't play so heavily as before but his efficiency remains good as ever be. he can still output 20+10 stats if he wants to imo, he just doesn't need to do that much as long as the youths are playing well and the team is winning.

No credibility. When you watch a team that loses in an empty arena, you have no credibility. You have to watch a winner to know things. This much I know.
