Judging from the YouTube stuff, whoever Jared Loughner is (and whether or not he's the shooter in custody), he is an obvious fan of syllogism and wholly unafraid of false syllogism.
He certainly had no respect for human life. He was seen shooting the gun and was pretty much caught in the act - what's a trial going to show us - that we was abused or was a bed-wetter, and we should feel sorry for him?

This Loughner guy is in her district, and mentions "District 8" in his first video.
Looks more and more like the shooter's name is "Loughner" and not "Laughner".
Props to the witnesses who tackled the active shooter. Awesome show of bravery.
A trial would demonstrate that we are a nation that values the law.

The sad thing is people complain about not being heard by their congressperson, and here is one that did go out and listen and like this has to happen.
Its not about him, its about us. We're either animals like him who want revenge ( o Crookshanks!) or we're a society with laws and rules that we FOLLOW for reasons and avoid giving in to cheap emotions. It never ceases to amaze me how people who advocate just killing someone in situations like this don't see the obvious tie of their feeling to what motivated the shooter in the first place.

I don't hate the law - and I know we need to follow the law and give him due process. I'm just saying I'd like some frontier justice in this case.

We all have the right to a fair trial in this nation. We should adhere to those standards at all times, even moreso during the most trying times.

Crookshanks does have a point. We already have a two-tiered system of justice, so why limit the second-tier to just terrorists?
Why not just throw criminal suspects in too, to satisfy an outraged public and the blood of the innocent?
