I'm pretty sure Chauncey's unhappiness also played a factor. Nets were being asked to give up their best player and their only quality PG in Devin Harris, getting back an older, grumpy PG doesn't offset getting a player of Anthony's caliber. You take a quality PG off any Carmelo team and Carmelo becomes...Kevin Love. or AI in Philly. Someone who can score in buckets but won't make the smart plays down the stretch...because he needs someone to run with him and set the plays. Chauncey has been more important to Anthony's recent success than he wants to admit.

No way the Nets should have done that deal, even if Carmelo signed the extension. They dodged a bullet but I'm sure they'll stick their head in front of the chamber again later.
It's Melo who doesn't want to commit playing long term with the Nets, so why the Nuggets must take the fall out of this trade failure ?

Why would this guy go to New Jersey when he can hangout with the great city of Dallas. Great football, great basketball, great hockey, even great baseball. Not only is this city great, but he will have a bright future with this franchise. Dirk will automatically be the 2nd option on this team.
