I'm not. I am a Spurs fan and want to trade Hill or Neal for Roddy. I also said Tiago will suck when we got him.

Unlike the Spurs fan saying "Tiago will be AMAZING! Euroleague MVP, twin towers returns!!!!!"

LOL look at this thread. Tiago has ing 71 votes.

Some gem quotes from Spurs fans:
Lol, Roddy never played? He dominated when he got PT last year. And he's injured this year.

Your post is an astute example of Spurs homerism.
Chad Henne and Brandon Marshall say hi.

i never said i would do the trade

i havent seen splitter play to see how well his game actually translates to the NBA, how skilled he actually is, etc...

but we know for a fact, that in the small spurs when Oden was healthy, he was a very solid NBA player.

so id say that doing a trade like that is a high-risk, high-reward trade, while keeping splitter is low-risk, unknown-reward. just depends on the mentality of the person who would consider such a trade. personally, if splitter hasnt been able to get any minutes over freaking Bonner and McDyess, then he obviously isn't all that great. Pop doesnt strike me as a guy who despises playing rookies just for the sake of it, like Larry Brown, Avery Johnson, and Rick Carlisle. I think if he truly was a good player, he would be getting more minutes with the Spurs. But we dont know for sure.
Good points. No one knows what kind of player Splitter is, including Pop because of Splitter missing Summer League, training camp, etc..., due to injuries. From the little bit of playing time Splitter has received so far, Splitter moves pretty well for a big man, and shows decent awareness/bbiq on the court. But Splitter seriously needs to get stronger and his post game, while pretty good as far as his footwork goes, needs quite a bit of work. The only reason I wouldn't trade for Oden is Oden's medical history, not because Oden isn't a talented player.

Blake beat me to it..how does Balkman have the balls to talk about correct predictions after making all those Henne comments..

As for Splitter, of course you trade him for Oden IMO..Splitter was overhyped by a lot of people during the off season, but now he's hated on too much by most people, he's a better player than a lot of people are making him out to be..

I am a Dolphins homer, I admitted it?

Last time I checked this an NBA forum?
Just wanted to remind you that you also had some gem quotes to show as astute examples of homerism.

And Oden wasn't overhyped? What exactly has Oden done in his collegiate and professional career, besides his inability to remain healthy? Great physical talent, but exactly how much talent does he have now after his knee problems?

I would trade Tiago for Oden right now. Oden's upside is too much to pass up on.

I want to see what Splitter does next season after a year in the Spurs system. It will be an achievment if Oden can just get on the court next season.

Sure, and I understand people's POV on that. I can respect that. I am also one of Tiago's biggest supporters.

But losing a guy like Tiago doesn't kill your team long term or short term. His upside is not high enough to have you really kicking yourself imo. He can be a damn good role player, and that is valuable.

But Oden, if healthy, changes the game in a big way. It's worth the risk to me. The only problem is what he will be owed money wise. Portland has to tender him one of an offer pretty much sight unseen.

That Oden being healthy is a big if? His health would be my only concern. Could also be a concern about Splitter as well, but not to the point of Oden's medical issues.

Yep. You didn't up with Tiago. You ed up with Scola. Consider yourselves lucky though. You pull a boner like that as a Laker and you never hear the end of it.
I had to put my answer in the quotes because Deep has me on his Ignore List.

im pretty sure if the blazers offered Oden for Tiago right now, the spurs FO would do it in a heartbeat.

i'm a huge Splitter homer but id give him up in a sec to get Oden.

No. Pop would cut off his nose to spite his face before he'd do that, Mugs.

Why would you want a player on your team who doesn't play?
