Calm down, nit picker. Chris Paul gets plenty of hype.

I was actually trying to draw out BR I guess you will do.
What am I nitpicking? I didn't say that Paul gets no hype.

    How is Paul overrated?

Overrated: Chris Bosh, Rudy Gay, Brook Lopez

Underrated: Joakim Noah, Arron Afflalo, JJ Re

I was going to say Nene too but a few already mentioned him. If he got more primary touches on offense and they actually let him play 35 minutes a game, I think he could be a 20/10 guy. I don't know if Karl always worries about keeping him healthy, but that guy is a horse.

Bosh is still having a pretty good year putting up some good numbers and he's still really important to the Heat, but I think he's shown that he really isn't anywhere near the same caliber as LeBron and Wade. Brook Lopez was being touted as the next dominant big after his rookie year. He still can be a very good big, but he has shown more regression than anything. Is it Avery Johnson? Or has this kid already plateaued?

I know Re isn't all that great and will never be a star, but he's really improved his all around game and made himself a pretty solid rotation player. I think a lot of people expected him to be out of the league by now. He's proven to be a very solid asset. I found it funny before the trade when he'd be on the court to finish games instead of Vince.

Good calls by Jam on the underrated. I don't agree with Bosh though. I think now, he is so marginalized in the Heat's success that he is underrated.

He is and was obviously never on Wade/Bron's level, but it's really hard to look valuable when you are the 3rd option offensively. Just ask Duncan now.

He is not as much of a leader as he needs to be, he goes through stretches where he is not helping his teammates play better and he doesn't look to score enough when the team is struggling.
Just my opinion. Don't get all bent out of shape. .

Wanted to get rid of any legit defenders they still had.

i agree, i think prior to his current time with the heat, bosh was overrated, but now i think so many people dismissed him after his bad start with the heat, that now that he has fit in, he is getting overlooked definitely.

Bosh isn't over or underrated now as Phillip mentioned, he's found his niche as a teams 2nd/3rd option.

Afflalo is a good choice, why did Detroit trade him?
Another foolish Dumars move, but in essence he wasn't going to get much of an opportunity behind Rip and then newly signed Ben Gordon. It was also made in order to open enough cap space to acquire Chris Wilcox. Obviously, just bad all over. Although if he stayed in Detroit, I'm not convinced he would have gotten the opportunity to show he could play this well. So for Afflalo, it was great for him simply because it gave him the opportunity he wouldn't have gotten in Detroit.

Chris Bosh is still a very good player, don't get me wrong. But I think a lot of people considered him much closer to the level of LeBron and Wade this past summer. Obviously, still the third best player of the three. But I think we're seeing that he's well down below as the third best player. He still might be just as important though because of how weak the rest of the Miami frontcourt is. Last couple years, Bosh was easily considered close to the same caliber PF as guys like Gasol and Amare, if not Dirk. Now, I think it's easy to see he's not in the class of any of those guys.

That's the part I don't agree with. While I was wrong about Amare compared to Bosh (even though Amare has come back down to Earth), I don't remember many around here claiming Bosh was better than Pau or Dirk.

I also don't think you can say it's clear to see he is not in the class of Amare... because of his role.

When you are a third option because you are playing with two top 5 players, you are going to look less impactful. If Amare was in Bosh's spot, he would be marginalized as well. Point is, I don't think Bosh is that far off from Amare and his new role obviously makes it hard to compare the guys.

And the basketball watching populace has taken notice, which is why, as I have stated previously, people are beginning to think that Deron Williams is the best point guard in the NBA. Hornets fans on here--the people you probably used as a reference for your post--have called Paul out for his play at times. Hornets fans on Hornets message boards have called Paul out on his play. I'll ask you again: who are these people who overrate Chris Paul? John Hollinger?

Just my opinion. Don't get all bent out of shape. .
at you trying to make me look bad.

Asking you to defend your position = getting bent out of shape.

Are you going to accuse me of foaming at the mouth next, so you won't have to answer my question?

Oh, and Paul actually trusts his teammates too much, so your second point is false. There have been far too many times this season in which he passes up shots he should take to give the ball up to Ariza, West or Belinelli.

Kinda hard to overrate Rondo. I mean, he can;t shoot for but there's a reason why the Celtics lead the league in FG% and is the only team shooting over 50%. Great on defense and gets his guys the shots they want in the spots they want.

As far as Kevin Love. A nonathletic white guy averaging 21 and 15 while shooting in the low to mid 40s from three range is hardly overrating. Maybe it's because he's on the Wolves but those numbers are beastly. He could be suffering from Al Jefferson syndrome. Putting up great number while being on a ty squad ......

look out for amir johnson on toronto. despite the team being terrible, he's shaping to be a decent all around player.

kevin martin isnt underrated because his defense just isnt there. all he does is shoot 3s and free throws.

Westbrook is the most overrated player in the league IMO. His stats are inflated by his shot volume...200 more shots than Parker this year...and the system he plays in where he dominates the ball all the time. The guy can't finish at the rim to save his life unless he gets a dunk, he misses open teammates regularly. The guy shoots 42% from the field.

I'm only speaking in terms of the Lakers here.

Super overrated: Shannon Brown. Lots of Lakers fans are up to sucking this scrub's and I admit to being guilty of praising him too much just because he makes two jumpers and a game-changing dunk once every 5 games at least. I remember Fpoonsie saying that he loves SB's game. Hey brah let the last LA-SA game be a testament at how he sucks balls.

Underrated: ...might be Matt Barnes. He's needed more than ever now that Artest is just one Phil Jackson public nitpicking away from eruption

    OVERRATED:

    1. Lebron James
    2. Amare Stoudamire
    3. Carmelo Anthony

Lebron James possesses the greatest phyisical talent that I've ever seen, but until he wins a ring, hes overrated.

Stoudamire and Anthony are great scorers, but below average defenders. Can either be a leader and make his team better?

    UNDERRATED:

    1. Deron Williams
    2. Luis Scola
    3. Chris Paul

Williams and Paul are great and are acknowledged as such, but has their respective teams ever really tried to surround them with enough talent? Scola is a autmatic 20 and 10 guy every night and, while not a lock down defender, he competes and possesses a high bbiq. I wanted to put Parker on the underrated list, but I didn't want to be labeled a homer.
