My car was broken into for the 2nd time since October last night. The first time I heard the alarm, ran outside before he had time to grab anything and tried to chase him down but my fatass didn't get to him before he ran into an alley I didn't feel like following him down.

Last night I was pulling an all nighter studying but somehow didn't hear it. All he stole was an old ass ipod that's worth at most $40 (meanwhile his dumbass didn't think to steal the $100+ textbooks sitting in my back seat).

I've called the police both times to file a report, and both times the response was they wouldn't send an officer to the scene but they'd mail me a police report to fill out that I could deliver to their records department (in other words fill out a report and then have them file it away). The University Police only seem interested in being at the scene when it involves issuing a traffic ticket to a student, actual crimes aren't high on their priority list I guess.

So what should I do? Arizona gun laws are open enough to the point where I can buy a gun now. I'm not gonna waste my time with another self-service police report. What else does anybody suggest? My lease runs through this summer and it's not like I have a garage to park in.

More than likely it is someone who lives very close, I would say almost certainly.

If it is something of a habit, it might not be too hard to catch them in the act. Small webcams with mobile transmitters work wonders.

Remember, having a gun, and being able to legally blow someone away for ing with your car are two different things.

Texas has some pretty solid legal protections for people shooting criminals in the act, generally. Yippie ki yay. Not sure about Arizona.

Best to do some very solid research into it before spending money. The local NRA chapter would probably have the right information.

the dumbass didnt realize my monitor was cracked. my padre was too stingy to buy me a new one.

so now i dont have a computer. lifes a when you dont have internet or anything to write your school papers on.

Yeah that sucks. Not sure how UT works but idk how the I'd do stuff at UofA without a laptop. Everything here is web-based (you think UT classes are getting big, I took an 800 person class a year ago where everything outside of tests was submitted online).

yeah ive taken courses where i had to submit homework online, and everything here is off blackboard. plus i have to type up and print a load of papers. i pretty much live at the computer lab.

AZ doesnt have that law so shooter will be charged if he shot someone to protect his property.

*if he can prove that he was scared for his life then he can probably be under the "no retreat" law that AZ does have.
