I don't understand the thunder blowing it up like that. The nazr trade makes sense and is a good one. The Perkins deal makes no sense.
I disagree. Green's a really nice player but what he brought to the table wasn't essential for the team's growth and success.

The Thunder can really bring just that now defensively - and they ain't hurtin' for offense . . .

One player I thought could've been a real possibility for us was G. Wallace...damn. Would've made us clear favorites...
hmmm, do you even know how much his contract was? if you did you would have known he was never a real possiblity

Spurs doing no trade isn't a surprise but what is more surprising is that there hasn't been a single trade rumor about Spurs. I don't remember the last time it happened.

Wow, that really is a pretty eye-opening trade between two highly compe ive teams. Much more surprising for the Celtics, but still . . .

agreed...The celts obviously have a player who they will sign after the deadline (murphy, sheed, etc.) but the loss of perkins is really gonna hurt that defense ALOT...

two possible Spurs opponents in the playoffs (OKC and Portland) just got a lot tougher....

still think we'd beat both in a playoff series but that 2nd round matchup with OKC/Blazers looks just about as tough as a Mavs/Lakers second round.

I guess now the focus turns to who is getting bought out, and, perhaps relatedly, how the Spurs will handle that final 13th roster spot...

Word is Pryzbilla may be bought out by the Hornets and could be contemplating retirement.

If it's true that he's going to get bought out, I hope the Spurs try like to talk him out of retirement. He'd be #1 on my buyout wish list.

For the Celtics it doesn't, the Thunder got a steal.

I do agree the potential 2nd round matchup w/OKC has become a little tougher. But what do we expect? A cakewalk through the playoffs.

Even the years the Spurs won the le they had some tough matchups in the playoffs. That's par for the course.

    Seattle in 05
    Phoenix in 05 & 07

I do wonder about Perkins' health though. I just don't think Boston would give him up that easily when they have a legit shot to win it all this year.

Gerald Wallace to the Blazers ... maybe it's just me, but it seems counterintuitive to bring a player with the nickname 'Crash' into that organization.

First Camby and now Crash. ... Maybe it's some reverse psychology trying to juke the jinx?

Hornets? Isn't he in Charlotte now?

But if true, Spurs should try to get in on that. Prz did pretty damn good against Bynum last night.

Would he play in front of Splitter? That's the dilemma for any big coming to the Spurs?

Where are the minutes going to come from...if he does consider coming here?

They might come from Bonner's minutes when he starts choking in the playoffs or in teams with size like OKC and LA.

I'm not sure Thunder are better with these trade. They are surely better on the defensive end but I'm not sold on their offense. Spacing could very quick be problematic.

Blazers are more talented but they also have a huge hole. Behind Aldridge and Camby, their bench at PF/c is Sean Marks.

All in all, Mavs and Lakers haven't improved their team so it's a good trade deadline for Spurs.

What's the dilemma? If he's better than Splitter he should play in front of Splitter. If he's not, that's okay too. The Spurs still add depth & size.

Where are the minutes going to come from...if he does consider coming here?
If he's contemplating retirement I would think minutes aren't all that big a concern of his.

But what if Bonner plays well this year?

Plus, with the emergence of Neal I believe will help Bonner big time. Because you will another option spacing the floor.

I know easy to say replace Bonner....but he has earned his minutes and if he keeps shooting well ( I know he has not played well in the playoffs) no other big coming into the Spurs system with 25 games left will get a lot of minutes.

My bad. I keep thinking Charlotte Hornets. I haven't got my mind around the name Bobtails - just yet.
