not enough slashers. The two little people don't count.
Spurs fans are nervous. They know they're dream season is at risking of flaming out in the end. They're a flawed team and have the least inside presence out of the contenders.
not enough slashers. The two little people don't count.
A lot of those are with Butler and Stevenson as wing defenders
I think we will see Stevenson against the Lakers. No reason to play Roddy against them. Roddy is better suited for the Spurs.
You realize Tim is an inside presence no? Look at where he ranks with regards to shot blockers THIS year.
Spurs definitely have interior defense problems though. Luckily, the Mavs have no slashers or post players.
Other than defending quick PGs being the weakest point the Lakers have in their defense, than yes I see no reason to play him against the Lakers. Barea better have the series of his life than, cause as great as Dirk is he is not going to offset the production from Odom/Gasol/Bynum. Maybe Peja could survive that series since he is going to be matched up against Artest most of the time.
That's okay. The Mavs have got guys who can take shots late in games. You want a guy like him scoring on putbacks and alley oops. A guy who provides energy even when you aren't running plays for him is valuable, and why the Mavs love him so much.
Be interesting to see how many minutes Duncan can control the paint for in the playoffs given his reduced minutes and touches in the regular season. Spose it's all up to his quad.
Staaaaaaaaaacked. Chandler/Dirk is a powerful frontline for Dallas. They complement each other!
Definitely better than last year, but some of the guys who faded last year in the postseason have to show up.
BTW, people that hate the Peja signing don't remember how bad he torches Spurs teams without Bruce Bowen.
Mavs fans never cease to amaze. I continue to be amazed at how many people buy into this team season after season, even though they've played basically the same season for ten straight and come up well short of the finish line in all but one and even in that season, they still came up short, just not well short.
When will people accept that no team with Nowitzki as their best player is going to win a championship? It's been made abundantly clear over the past decade. I'm not "trolling" or "hating" or "butthurt", I'm just not going to ignore a decade's worth of evidence just because the Mavs are in the midst of a torrid stretch in their typical fools-gold regular season.
I get that, as a fan, it's tough not to get excited and I'm not trying to put a damper on what they're doing, I'm just being a realist. Why get your hopes up annually? Honestly, I'm surprised you guys aren't like Red Sox fans pre '04 by now. I'm genuinely surprised you're not cynics.
