Why would they waive Brewer for Jared ing Jeffries? Wow..

I can't see him going to Boston or OKC. Dallas is probably the fave because of the money Cubes can throw at him.

the problem for a devoted fan like me is: i got this "we should have an additional player thing"

and i cant shake this off.....goodness!!!

i keep coming back to this site, expecting the good news that we have landed someone who can help us.....both of course, there's no good news yet

i hope the front office makes our dreams come true...........

right, we hope he makes the right choice

coz i think we are only two role players away

defender plus situational big for insurance (either Pryz or the greek guy or Cousin) and we are set
I am a believer that we can very well win with what we have. But getting one or two more pieces will help me breath easier come playoff time.

What am I missing about Brewer?

The Knicks would prefer to go with Jeffries instead of CB because D'Antoni is more familiar.
The Lakers could use him but we haven't heard of their interest.
The Bulls are preferring to go after Butler and his scoring potential over adding more defense and potential chemistry with their roster and Noah.

I like how this has turned into a Mavs vs Spurs thread. Why compare the two when there is no comparison? Spurs are in a class on their own. Mavs can't touch them. It has already been said best a few posts back- If Brewer is a Spurs type of guy, he will choose the Spurs- not because we throw money at him or promise him playing time. The question is not "what can the spurs offer?" its "IS BREWER SPURS MATERIAL?"
    lol

That's what I'm saying. How hard can it be to plug Brewer into D'Antoni's system over a guy like Jared Jeffries? And in a backup role in NY, at that.

The Knicks need more size, though Jeffries always plays smaller than he is.
The Lakers don't need another wing who can't shoot.
    Ditto for the Bulls.

Maybe OKC is the dark horse here....but they have only a back up role to offer as well. I said it before, I think this could come down to something as simple as "The Mavs said I'll start".
    I hope not.

You have to wonder if the whole Spurs personna counts for something in the minds of the average player.
Practically every player who has ever played here wants to come back.
They know little to nothing about the Spurs before they get here, yet why is it they change their minds once totally involved.
Never read a single quote about this being a bad place to be, and on the contrary have read only the opposite of that.
So if Brewer is smart, and a Spurs type of player, then he will be here.

The Lakers, though, could benefit from adding him to their weak bench.

I agree, but I think they need more shooting off the bench and Brewer doesn't bring that.

They got a nice, cheap little player in Derrick Brown today. Jeffries added soon.

Because this is Mike D'Antoni we are talking about. If you are a wingman who can't shoot 3s in every way imaginable, you can't play for him.

I can't explain why the Knicks want Jeffries over Brewer. Size/length maybe? Or maybe they are trying to free up room to get more size, i.e. make a run for a big guy should he get released. I don't know.

The others are easy. L.A. can't afford to sign Brewer. Plus, they're glaringly weak at point guard. If I were them, I'd be more interested in Bibby or Ford, if I could afford someone at all. I think they believe Artest can give them more than Brewer. Particularly defensively against the Thunder/Durrant should they meet again.

Bulls are easier to explain. They need peremeter shooting to give Rose room to operate. They don't have a two guard and that is a bigger priority. Not saying that Butler is better, but he fits better with what they need.

You'd have to think he'd have the fewest minutes available if he were to go to Boston. But hey, crazier things have happened.
