Miami doesn't have a local site either.

Who cares, would rather win ships without publicity than be constantly talked up and constantly failing.

I thought the whole ESPN website was a local affiliate for the Heat.

I think you misread them: this is for teams that have to justify why they are #1. The Spurs aren't listed because, well, they are #1. Period.

Wow. Normally I downplay a lot of stuff about how the Spurs get left out (especially considering the number of SI covers I have with Duncan covering the page), but this is pretty ridiculous.

On the other hand, I don't know if ESPN has a San Antonio local site, so that could play into it as well. Notice the Thunder aren't mentioned either.
Why the would the Thunder be considered #1, they have 22 losses for crissakes.

And no, the city of San Antonio doesn't have a local ESPN site. Neither does Washington D.C.

Jesus people, it says "Our ESPN Local sites"

SA doesn't have a site, the foam fingers do.

    Stupid thread.
Makes you wonder though. Why even have local sites when you only have created 5 or 6 of them. What about the other major cities getting boned?

Well then and USA Today each have their own special section dubbed "Heat Check" with nothing but Heat related bull .

You'll note the presence of Knicks paraphernalia on that page. Would you take the Knicks over any of the top teams in the league right now? Yet they're up there.

I guess if you don't have a local site, you can't be a le contender... SO why are we focused on bringing in Brewer? shouldn't we be trying to get our own ESPN site?

If ESPN had a local page for San Antonio, it would consist of the article about Parker's injury plus links to all the "what's wrong with the Lakers" articles.

It doesn't matter if the fans read Steiny Mo's junk or publications of other national writers. Let's just hope that the players are reading. They are the ones getting disrespected and need to play with a constant sense of urgency and purpose in going for that fifth championship.

And you can be darn certain that if the Spurs do win the championship, there will be plenty of critics ranging from "Miami wasn't quite jelled yet" to "the Lakers just got bored" to "had Dirk not gone down they would've had homecourt" etc. etc.

In researching Jamstone's ridiculous attempt to imply that the 2006 Pistons didn't get any more attention than the Spurs regarding their win-totals, I found a bunch of articles where the Pistons players were relieved once they actually fell off the 70 win pace because they were tired of talking about it. I think I mentioned this already, but the Spurs should probably be happy that they haven't been pestered about it every night.

The same thing is with ESPN America's 'NBA Tonight'. 40% time of Miami Heat vs. every team, always comes first on show. Second material goes with which kink of sandwich eat Carmelo this afternoon etc.
