Is the movie somewhat based on the real L.A Battle from 1942 ?
Movie looks good and the robot song was used perfectly in the first trailer.

Anyone go see it yet? I'm gonna catch it tomorrow afternoon.
I saw it. Compared to skylike, this movie was worlds better. Lots of action, a lot of it was over the top but hey, we go to movies to be entertained, no? I'm thinking there will be a lot of mixed reviews about the ending....
Critics reviews have been mixed. In the mold of The Expendables, I don't care too much about the story with this one. As long as it kicks a lot of ass that's all that matters to me.
Exactly. Who goes to an action movie to see some drama? Explosions, big guns and general awesomeness is all I'm expecting.
Skyline was alright but it ended abruptly.
Skyline was so bad its not even funny. I can't agree that it was anywhere near alright.
I have been looking forward to this, however.
Actually, Skyline was so bad that it was funny.
I saw it last night at 12:01am and I liked it. I do think it might have been better and more violent if it had been rated R. Aaron Eckhart was a BAMF in the movie. I thought the aliens were interesting because they didn't really use the stereotypical alien weapons and they were smart.
Yes, the whole theater I was as was laughing at the ending, it wasn't supposed to be a comedic ending.
Skyline was pure, hot garbage.
I'm a sucker for any alien invasion movie so defenitley going to rip this movie.
That's true, I did like that about the aliens. Using cover, bringing out heavy weapons when out matched, taking care of their wounded. I did like that bit and I agree about Eckhart, dude was hardcore. And I'm glad Mic e Rodriguez didn't play the super hardcore chick like always; she kinda toned it down.
If this happened in real life, would Earth have a chance? Another cool thing about the aliens is that they used drones.

Headed to see it at 3:30. I will observe and report.
I saw it last night and thought it was really cheesy. In most of the scenes that are supposed to be dramatic, or even sad, I just felt like laughing. I can see why it's got a 32% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Just got back. They tried too hard with the drama. If you are going to be dramatic then cast decent actors. If you are going to have a shoot 'em up then just blow it all up and call it a day. They should have left all forced back story with the staff sgt. out of it.
That said, it's worth going to see on the big screen for the war scenes. The CG was integrated nicely and the fighting was intense.
6.5/10
That's about what I gave it too. I couldn't have cared less for the "little marine" and his dad bit. After they got back to the FOB, I was begging to get back to the action but instead had to listen to a in speech.
Saw it last night...I actually thought it doesn't deserve all the negative feedback critics are giving it...the battle scenes were pretty damn cool...the dramatic scenes were pretty good...I mean not Oscar worthy...but good...overall I would give it a 7.5-8 out of 10...what was funny was...I was sitting one row behind those D-box seats...those people were being thrown around like crazy...so I could actually feel it too...
mic e rodriquez show any s?
