there's the reason he's not in game shape because stupid Pop doesn't let him get in shape
No way in this team wins a le playing the Bonner/Blair combo for any time during a playoff series.
there's the reason he's not in game shape because stupid Pop doesn't let him get in shape
Bonner and RJ were horrid but thank goodness we won despite them. Tiago should play a lot though to let Duncan/Dice rest. Hard to argue that Splitter could not have given more than RJ and Bonner combined. 5 points in 30 minutes from RJ is ridiculous, Bowen was a better scorer than he has been lately!
Tiago is not the answer (not yet). He needs to work with trainers to correct his fundamentals. It's too bad he missed training camp.
The issue is Blair. Splitter just hasn't surpassed him on Pop's depth chart.
Spliiter recently is showing more than Blair. My guess is Pop is trying to develop both of them on the fly. Maybe trying to boost Blair's confidence.
well we have back to back, so splitter might get minutes tomorrow night and duncan rest.
Yeah, the 37 seconds before the end of the first half. Meanwhile, Matty will get 29 minutes and go 2 for 11, 0-6 beyond the arc. Book it!
The issue is Bonner. The "snowman". He's a complete ing choke, and Pop refuses to realize to accept it.
Duncan >> Mcdyess/Splitter/Blair >>>>> "Snowman"
It's absolutely ridiculous.
This is the part that gets me. It seems pretty obvious that Splitter has outplayed Blair and that Splitter/Bonner is a much better combo than Blair/Bonner. (I gave up on the notion of a reduced role for Bonner a long time ago, it's worked wonders for my peace of mind)
The realistic ceiling for Splitter's role in this year's playoffs is as Tim's backup. I'm still holding out hope that he replaces Blair in that role.
Atlanta may have some tall guys on the roster, but Collins went out early with an injury and Armstrong hardly played. There were significant stretches of the game where Marvin Williams was the PF.
Just as with the subject of this thread, having 2 7-footers on the roster doesn't mean the team plays big.
I expect a lot of blair/splitter line up. And less blair/bonner. Novak might play imo.
I was going to rip this up, but it's simply too stupid, and I'm too tired of doing it, so![]()
Not a prolific offensive player … Despite his height and quickness, Splitter is not much of a shot blocker … Tends to get frustrated when played physically in the low post … This has led some to question his mental toughness … Throughout his career he has had health trouble so there’s concerns that he could be an injury prone player in the NBA’s 82 game schedule … Must improve on his upper body strength. How big he can actually get is questionable … This impacts him offensively when he fails to finish after contact occurs … Despite being one of the most talented players on the court, tends to defer to teammates and lacks aggressiveness … Surprisingly shows mediocre consistency shooting from mid-range … Not a great free throw shooter … Still prone to fundamental lapses, doesn’t always secure rebounds which enable easy steals for opposing teams … Tends to get out-muscled for rebounding position by stronger opposing forwards …

Just saying...
None of the things listed has any casual relationship to his missing training camp. Thanks for ripping it up for me.
The sad thing is that Pop would have probably pulled this with Scola had we not given him away.
Him not playing is tied to him missing training camp. I have no idea where you are trying to go with this. Tiago Splitter missed training camp. He needs to work with NBA trainers, Spurs trainers to be precise. I am sure he's done some work, but you can tell when he's out there than he's still trying to figure out where he's supposed to be. I think the guy is amazing, but I don't see any reason to ignore the facts.
That review was written before the 2007 draft.
Just sayin.....
Funny how you talk about facts but post complete bull like the bolded part, and back it up with a four year old scouting report.
I'm not getting into another pissing contest with the "gang up" crowd. I tend to get the ty end of the deal.
If you could rip it apart you would. You obviously kept responding.
Tell me how good Tiago is.
He's miles ahead of Bonner and Blair defensively.
And he's about the same offensively when Bonner is clanking open 3s and DeJuan is missing open dunks.
