Do you seriously think people at, below or near the federal poverty level seriously believes that they would somehow be better off under a Republican president (other than a minority of "useful idiots")?
The Republican War on the Poor is pretty damned obvious to anybody with any common sense. The party of rich white people, by rich white people, and for rich white people isn't fooling anybody.
I take that back, come to think of it, they have fooled an awful lot of poor people who labor on the illusion that the fiscal conservatives give a about socially conservative issues. Sorry for the mistake.

Anyone who believes they will be better because of a specific politician is misguided. Obama fooled so many people, you can't help but laugh at them. Our welfare state has done WONDERS for the poor.
You all say the Republicans don't give a about the common man. I agree with that 100%. Don't give a about me, just stay out of the way enough for us to do our thing in the bogus game. The problem with Dems is they pretend like they give a about you yet do the same as the reps only they want to bring down everyone in order to raise the poor up to everyone's level. Last I checked the bankers are raping the country and living outside of jail cells under the current administration. But but but they aren't reps, so the poor and minorities should feel content.

Good thing the government is there to wipe their asses -- without fail, everyday.
No doubt, the misguided liberal crusade to alleviate poverty and human suffering can only detract from the noble work of propping up the criminal bankers, oligarchs and millionaires so essential to our economic well-being.

President Obama should lock down the entire fuarking government until the Fed is exposed for its bull . He won't.During the financial crisis, the Fed routinely made billions of dollars in "emergency" loans to big banks at near-zero interest. Many of the banks then turned around and used the money to buy Treasury bonds at higher interest rates — essentially loaning the money back to the government at an inflated rate. "People talk about how these were loans that were paid back," says a congressional aide who has studied the transactions. "But when the state is lending money at zero percent and the banks are turning around and lending that money back to the state at three percent, how is that different from just handing rich people money?"

I have little doubt there are some self-serving Democrats in public office who give lip service to such things.
It must be nice to be dismissively cynical about *everything*. It would make life so much easier to wave people and ideas away without actually bothering to, you know, make the effort to actually find out what people are or think.
I may be an intellectual elitist, but I sure as glad I am not a lazy POS cynic.
