Game one was more alarming than it was encouraging. I still think the Spurs win this series, but I'm not as confident as I was last year against the Mavs. I knew the Mavs had nothing on the Spurs (no overwhelming size advantage, dominant rebounding, athleticism, go-to perimeter player, etc.). This Grizzlies team has an advantage that isn't going to go away just because the Spurs are suddenly going to have a heightened sense of urgency. And on top of that, they're confident. They genuinely believe they can beat this team, which is always half the battle in a match-up like this. They're somewhat like the Suns last season in that they've caught lightning in a bottle and are playing to their absolute peak. You put those three things together and add the fact that the Spurs have been struggling for a while (you'd have to go back to the last Mavs game to find their last quality win) and you've got the makings for an upset. I'm not saying it'll happen, but the necessary ingredients are in place.
