Championship experience my ass..spurs are playing rec ball
Signing off for a bit. See you guys after the game. The Spurs are going to be fine. Quit worrying.
Also, Memphis is playing really well.
I'm not giving up yet, but they look like the newcomers, the Grizz look like champions. I have no confidence in Blair or Bonner and I'm hoping McDyess gets some breaks from the refs in the 2nd half. tony needs to make plays for his guys, he and hill have passed up open guys to go inside and get blocked or miss.
they are doing everything right ... still the Spurs should be good enogh to win one home game
in his typical tired condescending and smart ass tone
"Size does matter." Was that C-Webb?
Memphis with 11 more FGAs than the Spurs at the half... thank god they are shooting like crap, or they'd be leading by 15.
Clearly you haven't watched any of game 2. They've been running like crazy, RJ has been very aggressive, and guys are going in strong. For the most part, they're not making smart decisions and not taking care of the ball. Not terribly difficult to fix.
My belief in the spurs as a franchise that can win it all, even a single playoff series, will be seriously shaken if they give up this game.
Pop sucks ...can his ass already...and he can take Bonner with him
this definitely going to turn out to be all out war series. The Gizz doesn't look intimidated by the Spurs at all.
Now or never baby.......and by never, I mean until game 3, lol.
They really never were.
What I don't understand is how ferociously the Grizz are collapsing on drives and how we aren't getting better looks from the 3pt line. Seems like TP doesn't realize until it is too late that he doesn't have a shot and by that time he's so deep under the basket there are no passing lanes.
TP, RJ, and Manu attacking the lane is the right approach, but when the D collapses there's nothing there. Pop needs to make an adjustment to take advantage of our penetration.
And please, for the love of god, will one of our youngsters step up? Either Hill, Neal, or Blair, but if just one of them puts together a complete half we've got this . 8 pts from the bench is not going to cut it.
Memphis imposing their will right now on the Spurs.
Keep Dice out. Tim on Z and Blair on Gasol. They'll need to maybe double Gasol. Tim can handle Z by himself.
They just need to play under control. They're panicking trying to speed up the game too much to counter Memphis' size.
Memphis shooting just 38%.
Being down three isn't that bad considering how horrible the Spurs played to end the half.
It's going to come down to finding the offensive rhythm and sacking up enough to get some stops on the defensive end.
Malik and Sean are pissed.I can't imagine what the locker room was like in '99 whenever they trailed at the half.
all I see is the Spurs flushing this series down the toilette
They are playing with no confidence at all. Manu's important, but is anyone playing well? Extremely disappointing.
I'm just sorry they had to start the playoffs with one arm tied behind their back after playing so well all year long. It just seems like a replay of the last three or four years - waiting on someone to get healthy.
One last thing before I eat my sandwich and watch the second half:
The Spurs' downfall could very well turn out to be what many of us talked about earlier in the season: Three point shooting. Memphis has done an amazing job of preventing the Spurs from attempting any good threes. Even the crazy running around today has failed to break down the Grizzlies defense enough to get open threes. If the Spurs can't figure out how to free up their three point shooters, they could be in real trouble in the series.
I know I said not to worry, but I thought of this after I said that.
I do not know about this ... but I want that sandwich![]()
Tony made some good decisions to take it all the way early, but then got a little layup happy when the Grizz adjusted and started collapsing on him when he needed to kick it out. Hopefully someone points that out to him.
