Not exactly. Memphis did impose their will, but they have peaked. They are maxed out. Spurs have a ton of room to play better. They can also impose their will, even if it's not a will conducive to a le.

They are missing a lot of wide open looks. They are out rebounding this MEM team. They are holding MEM to 41% shooting the last two games. MEM is just doing it when it matters.

While I give all credit to MEM, Spurs can still win the series by just playing better. No gimmicks. No tweaks. Just perform better with their current plan and they win against MEM.

Debating OKC and LA is a different story altogether.
The Spurs will win in 7, imo.

The Spurs matchup better with OKC than they do Memphis, but it would no doubt be a fun series. LA-SA would be a laugher.

You do realize Manu is shooting with 40% with 8 turnovers in the two games he played, right?
Just looked at the stats and your right he is shooting 40 percent but he is still getting 20 points game. Even though Ginobili is shooting 40 percent his regular season average is only 43 percent so its no too much of a drop off. If you look at Ginobili's averages in this series across the board its pretty much the same except for the turnovers. I still think Allen is annoyed that he can't shut him down completely despite having a broken arm. I also believe Allen gets pissed off whenever Ginobili can draw fouls on him. Like I said Allen is on the verge of snapping that if the spurs win some games he will do some crazy . I can see him getting tossed out of a game on flagrant foul or some dirty play.

IMO, that's unfair to Manu. He played a great game 2 and was the reason that they won. He's got an excuse - hate to see that one armed free throw (his FT% is down). Parker, OTOH, is playing terribly and has no excuse.

I agree. MEM has gotten every lucky bounce, but you make your own luck. MEM is playing harder and making bigger shots in bigger moments.

TP is the real problem. If he just plays normally, Spurs win out.
I'm not even asking for 2007 playoffs version of Tony, just middle of the road decent Tony Parker. At this point, if Speedy Claxton were on the roster I'd give him Tony's minutes all over again.

I wish the Spurs had a guy who would get tossed for a flagrant play. Spurs lack any kind of killer instinct.

I'm just saying, people are acting like Manu is going off on Tony Allen or something . That is clearly not the case. I'm not dogging Manu (except that he is a playoff china doll). He is playing well all things considered.

I really hope Allen said that, it'll flip the series in favor of the Spurs! Keep talkin smack, please! Allen isn't smart to begin with (see torn acl on stupid showoff dunk), but talking trash will cost Memphis the series. I just hope our shooters stop chumpin and make a damn three ball.

I wish Spurs fans could step back and read what they are saying and use logic.

    1) Why would a number one seed need bulletin board material to beat an 8 seed?

    2) Did they not already have bulletin board material when Memphis tanked very publicly to get the Spurs?

    3) Were the Spurs not motivated after losing game one at home as the one seed to an 8 seed that had never won a playoff game before?

    4) Do you really need to "Believe" in order for a one seed to beat an 8 seed?

What Andrew Bynum would do to Blair and Bonner would make Marc Gasol's molestation look like child's play.

    Personally I would love LA.

Never underestimate the power of the slowest PG in the league, the worst shooting SF, and the savior Center that is marked fragile. I would love the Lakers.

This is when I would have an enforcer (Dice), knock the out of Tony Allen the next time he tries to come into the lane thinking he's Derrick Rose.
Dice is a nice guy, he's far from being an enforcer. Now he's a nice old player with a neck stinger. His name "Dice" sounds cool, though, if cool names could be considered for enforcing.

Its obvious the Grizzlies smell blood. They wanna go for the kill psychologically now. The Spurs dont have those mentally tough players they used to have. (Bowen,Horry,Finley,Oberto). Thats the downside to getting younger.

No way do these Grizzlies out tough Bowen,Horry or Finley.

Spurs lost the game by going to down nine in the first quarter. it got progressively worse going down by as much as 15, until finally the Spurs caught back up. but they could never quite gain enough momentum to make a full come back. after that it was mental mistakes that caused them to lose. but it all started with the hole that Popovich dug for this team.

funny thing is everything was FINE in the first quarter until Snowman came in, followed shortly thereafter by his turn tower associate. At that point the Grizz were getting everything they wanted inside. they scored something like 11 consecutive points right after Bonner entered the game. they straight up disrespected him. the first quarter was the key to the loss. it gave the Grizz momentum for the rest of the game and the Spurs had their backs to the wall the whole game after that.

you can look at Parker all you want, look at Neal all you want, look at Blair, Hill, and Bonner all you want for reasons the Spurs lost the game. our whole bench played like . but the guy on the sidelines has the easiest job off all of them. his job is to NOT UP, and he clearly did that in the first quarter with his decision to once again play the turd towers.

Tony is playing like . Manu has one arm. And the Griz post players are bullying the out of the Spurs front court. Calling for Splitter to see court time right now is absurd. I'm sick of the Splitter threads... It's not going to happen. That ship has sailed and watching him sit on the bench is ing embarrassing.

But what's even more absurd are the "stay the course" timvp posters saying "Bonner and Blair need to pick up their defensive intensity." defensive intensity isn't going to change Bonner's skin from white to black, give him hops, make him stop shooting from his hip and give him a sack. Defensive intensity isn't going to make Blair grow 5 inches. It's a ing circus sideshow.
