TBH the refs are not the reason we lost, that doesn't mean they didn't have an impact, nor that they weren't biased at some point and that we shouldn't talk about it...
The refs can only do much. Miami benefited in 2006 because Dallas stopped attacking and Wade was making suicide drives.
In short, they did something to catch the refs' attention.
They didn't have an impact. They weren't biased. Anyone who thinks that the refs played any role at all in this abortion of a game, ing kick yourself in the balls. Or the .
nah spurs lost cause they're not good
ha!
looks like Kermit sent some grey namers to the sidelines to play catch with daddeh efter det one! oh boy!
I love daddeh references.
The Spurs were called for 6 fouls in the first 3:21 of the 3rd quarter; all but one were shooting fouls (the Grizzlies were being extremely aggressive in taking the ball to the rim) and they converted 8 of 10.
In the remaining 8:39 of the 3rd quarter, the Spurs were called for exactly 1 team fouls -- a loose ball foul on Duncan at 1:25 that sent Battier to the line.
Despite being in the penalty for the last 9:19 of the quarter, the Grizzlies managed only 4 FTA in that time.
Meanwhile, in that first 3-4 minutes of the 3rd Quarter, the Spurs shot 0-4 and turned it over 2 more times.
After the 6th foul, the Spurs cut the lead to 5 between 7:23 and 4:34 by making 4-5 shots and turning the ball over only once -- they also made 2-2 FTA. Whatever the referees had called before that stretch, the Spurs were able to make plays and run offense efficiently.
But after that stretch -- over the last 4:34 of the 3rd quarter -- the Spurs went 2-6 from the field and turned the ball over 4 more times. During that fateful stretch, the Grizzlies, by comparison, went 5-8 (Mayo also missed a shot at the buzzer) and turned it over only 1 time.
To me, it's silly to about the officiating in Game 4 because no matter what you think of the officiating, the Spurs were in position to take the game when they actually managed to value the basketball and exercise some patience on the offensive end. It was their failure to execute over the last 4:34 of that quarter -- not the officiating -- that killed the Spurs.
Once they've built a double-digit lead and can't even play D cause even a hard stare is considered a foul while the grizzlys are allowed to manhandle our players yes the game gets out of control. They get super confident the crowd goes nuts. And we giveup cause they won't let us play so go suck your moms !
The tone was set that we would not be allowed to be as physical as memphis game over! And 06 is a perfect example I hate dallas more than anything but they got screwed.
Here are tonight's officials:
Bob Delaney
David Jones
Ken Mauer
Well since Spurs are playing like the Phoenix Suns now I guess we need to act like their fans?
Blame everything but the team!

Refs had nothing to do with Manu dribbling the clock out in Game 3 or the Spurs simply giving up in Game 4.
But, obviously (say some) the officials did make the Spurs allow the Grizzlies to shoot 10-16 inside the arc in the 3rd Quarter of Game 4 (with 1 turnover) and also made the Spurs shoot 6-15 with 7 turnovers in that same quarter.
The poor Spurs weren't even allowed to compete or try to defend -- at all!
Your common sense is not wanted here.
Obviously. Looking lost on both ends and defeated before the quarter hit the half-way mark was entirely the refs' fault, friend.
The poor Spurs weren't even allowed to compete or try to defend -- at all!![]()
I think the reffing was bad in that Memphis fouls a lot more than what they called, so yeah that matters. On the same token Memphis played lights out and deserves a lot of credit. And if you are getting away with it that's not your fault, might as well keep doing it.
Game 5
Bob Delaney
David Jones
