I wouldn't say it's a scam. I think it's cool. Just not cool enough for me to buy it though.
Agreed. Not a scam. Just a novelty that advertisers have been able to convince consumers is the next big thing they need.

I neither need nor want 3D TV.

When I saw Avatar in 3D, it was f'n awesome! You must have been to a theater where they simply f'd up the projector alignment or focus.

3D, for me, is to be kept in the theater, or special glasses that have two screens built in. Not on the limitations of a TV screen.
Not everyone can see 3D, that's a stupid assumption. There are plenty of people out there with vision problems (diagnosed or not) that make it near impossible to process the images properly with both eyes.

Yes, my oldest daughter is that way. Still, I think the idea of the OP is out of touch.

I paid a lot of money to never wear glasses again... anyone who wants me to pay to have to wear them to watch TV.

I agree overall, but I thought Avatar 3D was on another level. The colors were vibrant and it was like I was walking around that damn planet myself IMO. Maybe it largely depends on what theater you see it at.

The one thing I have yet to see that and the only thing that really interest me is 3D basketball. Has anyone seen it? Supposedly the technology Cuban has that he aired at All-Star weekend was something spectacular. To me, 3D sports could be awesome.

Would have been great for 21 after Bynum got ejected, tbh.

Don't go swimming in Canyon Lake with your eyes open. All I have to say. It will ruin your ability to play baseball in the exact season when you made a breakthrough and became significantly better than your peers.

Same. Won't get a 3D tv, won't get a 3DS, won't get a 3D smartphone. Last time I tried 3D was the stupid red/blue glasses with Family Guy Blue Harvest. Headache within seconds.

a scam is having to pay for text messages to cellular companies

a scam is having to pay for additional features in phone apps/games

a scam is having your personal information sold to the highest bidder by Google and Apple

I have a 60Hz tv and when I'm watching fast action sports, I do see it getting blurry, so maybe the 120Hz isn't such a bad thing.

But I don't really notice it on games. Maybe I'm just too focused on the action to see it happening, or maybe it just doesn't really happen.
