All Mallett has to do is keep his head on straight and he'll be successful in the league. It will help that he can learn and grow under Brady's wing without having all the pressure on from the get-go
granted, it's a big if whether he can stay focused, but if he does I think he'll be the best QB in this draft.
He's basically the prototype, with the exception of some reported character issues and being a bit below average mobility-wise. Learned under one of the better offensive(pro-style) minds in college football in one of the toughest conferences. Tall, rocket Arm, quick release. Watched him a lot during college and was usually impressed.
One more possible negative is late game management. He was less than stellar a few times last year, but also won some tough, close games. Including on the road. The latter goes for the year before as well, when he had a laughable defense and still managed to pass Arky to wins.
Anyway, I would have taken him before any of the others so far, including Cam...
