Does LA even have any real fans?
tbh it's funny to hear the "diehard" LA fans complain about the lower section rich crowd that's just there to socialize and be seen.
Without the rich bags paying for those expensive seats, the Lakers would not get near as much revenue

Laker fans know nothing about basketball. Absolutely nothing. Their favorite player hasn't run the offense all season, yet hears nothing but deafening cheers even when he shoots 29 shots and hands out zero assists.
Laker fans do, however, know that they live in the epicenter of the universe. And in their minds, the Lakers are the team of the epicenter of the universe. Thus, Laker fans know nothing else but complete and utter en lement, and they expect not only to win every game, but to embarrass the opposing team in every game.
Consequently, Laker players are imbued with the same sense of en lement. They expect to follow the script... they show up, adorn themselves in their purple and gold cloaks, run around a bit, throw up a few jumpers, shoot maybe 75 free throws, win the game (a given), then hit the town.
We all know the Laker players are elitists, because they follow the lead of Phil and Bryant. Have there ever been two more elitist personalities in the history of sport? So naturally, Laker fans are elitist as well.
If there were only a pill one could take to make a person feel the way it feels to watch the Lakers lose... I think it would be called Ecstacy.
I call bull on everybody criticizing fans for booing. That's what real fans do
when their team s up. You don't pick them up and cheer for their huge contracts
and bad effort. You boo their sorry asses of the field or court and back to the stone age.
I don't hate on other teams for being good. I hate my team for sucking. Spurs
fans are surprising me with their shock at this. Shows they don't have a tradition of
winning imo.

But back to the 80's and the Forum days, they had real fans who appreciated the game and non-Laker players as well.
For example, when the Lakers clinched the WCF le in 85 vs the Denver Nuggets, the Forum crowd gave a standing ovation to Dan Issel, who played his last game that night.
Yeah, Issel was an all-star, but he was no Larry Bird, and they still gave him a standing O.
When the Lakers eliminated the Spurs n 2008, some Laker "fans" booed the Spurs at the end of game 5.

Look at some of the Lakers fans here. Are you really surprised? The only difference between the booers in the stands and some of the LF here is that the guys in the stands had $500 to spend.
