You know what I'll help you

Here's a rundown of pretty much every post I made in that thread.

    Mexico is definitely outplaying us
that wasn't a jinx attempt, Mexico is playing better
It really doesn't matter whether we win today or not. We're not beating Germany playing like this. Maradona's "all heart, no strategy" bull approach is getting exposed.
    Awful, awful football by Argentina
Don't worry, Mexico playing like they are, they are bound to tie
you should be glad though, now you have your excuse served. You know you're looking for one
I've been pretty straight forward about what I think about the reffing this tournament, there is no denial.

Yes, that was offsides. Mexicans taking the opportunity to blame it instead of themselves is pretty ing pathetic. Not even the English are blaming the loss on the goal.

and by the way, Mexico is STILL outplaying us, and you're still losing. To say it should be 0-0 is ing laughable. Say it should be 0-1 if anything... which means you'd STILL be losing.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think we're winning because of anything we're doing right to be honest. I think Mexico's defense has made horrible mistakes. So far, Mexico is playing better.
Let me put it this way, if Mexico decides to pack it in because of an uncalled offside, they deserve to lose, period.

So far, it doesn't look like they are packing it in. They are still outplaying us.
the "what if" game you are playing has no logic, so what exactly are you asking me? you're saying Osorios up was because of the first goal, I'm saying you're full of . "What ifs" are excuses, period.
Let me be clear about this, I know it was offsides, I'm all for video replay being introduced so things like this don't happen.
I don't. We're not talking about a dissallowed goal or anything Mexico did on merit and didn't get. That goal was offsides on Tevez' touch, but the ball got there because of Mexico's defensive up. Osorio's up was a result of the crap defense you've been playing for sometime now, not an uncalled offside.

so to answer your question, yes, I think it was a punch to their confidence, any goal is but its NOT the reason for the second goal.

Either way, Mexico is playing well again and is still quite in this.
    Our D is non existant
Germany is going to murder this defense.
Mexico is outrunning every single ball out there
Jesus, the flopping going on is ridiculous
    Yellow card that BULL FLOP!!!!
That by Ottamendi was ing disgraceful
Mexico played better, just couldn't finish. Germany is going to kill us. I mean de.ci.mate us!
I don't think we have a game to step up to. This is us right now. Disorganized, practically defenseless, relying on our excellent offensive players to score more than the other team does. Mexico would have won this had they had finishers IMO. That seems to always be Mexico's problem. Otherwise we got completely outplayed today.

Against teams like Germany, Holland or Brazil we're going to get stepped on.
yeah, and some Argentines like to pretend this team is on par with Germany or Brazil just because it managed to beat Nigeria, South Korea, Greece and barely beat Mexico...

That's fine, play pretend all you want. This team isn't getting past Germany.

Yeah, biggest ing homer there is...

Sore losers? Like you wouldn't have ed about the ref if Mexico would have been the one that benefited from a call like that, I know I would have. Besides like if that wasn't enough, then they had to read your comments about it, I remember back then your comments even irritated me beign an Argie I don't even want to imagine if I was Mexican.
Like I said, I don't much care what irritated you being an Argie or not. You talk like you are the meter by which everything must be measured. My comments irritated you, fine. I still stand by them. I never said it wasn't an offside, I said it shouldn't be an excuse to mail it in and call it a tournament. Which they didn't. Mexico outplayed us till the very end. Its the Mexican fans that used the excuse, and THAT irritated me. Otherwise I'm more than willing to give Mexico its props for playing a of a game.

And about Argentina I liked how they played in the group stage, I don't think that's beign a homer. I'm sure most people here would agree that Argentina was one of the most exciting teams to watch during the first three games. I also said that I didn't feel confident going into the Mexico game and after it I ackowledged not only that we got a huge break with the offside goal but that we got outplayed by Mexico, how's that beign a homer?
I never accused you of being an Argie homer DAF, I accused you of being a Barca homer. Which lets face it, you are. That team can do no wrong in your eyes. If Barca loses its only because they weren't playing well, not because they were outplayed, if a Barca player commits a foul its rarely intentional and never deserving of a red but if another player commits a foul on a Barca player you scream bloody murder and think everybody should get a red. Like I said, its nothing personal, I like you man. Its just that's how you come off. At least to me. In other words my opinion.

About Barca and Messi I always say that they are the best team and the best player in the world respectively but I don't think that's beign a homer, that's just reality imho.
It is when you don't leave room for their short commings.

What's funny is you keep saying every Mexican here believed Mexico should have won had it not been for that goal, which by the way... mind ed the whole Mexican team.. when it appears that you, yourself believed it as well..

None of those posts say whether or not you're a homer, it's what came after..

You're the "careful" poster... Every single time you post about a game you try to post something that you won't eat crow about later, if you think that's bull .. that's the end of that, because it's so obvious.

what came after was me being annoyed that every Mexican in that thread wanted to pin the loss on a goal from a missed offside. A play that was the result of a monumental defensive breakdown by the Mexico defense (and no I'm not talking about the second goal).

We all agree the ref ed up, we all agree it cost Mexico. Its the "we would have won had it not been for that" bull that bothers me. Mexico had plenty of chances to score, plenty, and missed a ton. You lost because you couldn't close out on the chances you created, which again were a ton. That's another thing we all agree on, Mexico played better than Argentina. I said it all through out that damn game. In other words, instead of blaming your inability to finish, you chose to and moan about a missed offside. Again, give me a break.

    I'm the careful poster?

GTFO! so what you're saying is I carefully gave props to the Mexican team all through that game (which by the way was right from the get go) so that in the future I'd be able to throw it in the face of people like you when they call me a homer for not agreeing with them? that's what you're saying? You're calling me a homer because you can't prove I am one? is that your reasoning??

by the way, there are like 25 posts in that thread 22 were me giving Mexico their props and criticizing Argentina's play, 3 were me criticizing Mexico's fans for the ing and moaning of the offside.

That's one of a "careful poster" setup Sense...

Honestly, who's being the homer here?

The epicness in this thread is going to be better than the game. This is pretty much like the Dallas Lakers series. No matter who wins we're going to be ed by one set of obnoxious fans.

Some of the blatant homerism is truly shocking, on the level of cobbler/21 Blessings.

Real talk right now. I don't think that's true, there aren't many Manchester fans in here and I don't see the Mexicans rooting for Chicharito as big homers.

Then you have Barca fans, you can't blame them/us for saying that Barcelona is the best team in the world. Some Barca fans even were saying that Pepe didn't deserve to get sent off, I don't know how's that beign a homer.

Then you have the Barca supporters that actually know the rules and say that Pepe was rightly sent off, but that's not beign a homer either.

I guess, but I think this final determines who gets the crown of best team in the world. United and Barca are very evenly matched, i'm saying United pull it out but it could really go either way.

I think ManU has a much bigger chance than most people think but IMO it wouldn't be fair to determine the best team in the world by just one game, if it was a series like in the NBA then I could agree that the winner should be considered the best team in the world, but for one game? No, specially in football where many times the team that plays better in a particular match doesn't end up wining it.

I don't do best teams in the word, it's ain't my religion. [/Culburn]

I'm sure either team could give a whether they're consider the 'best in the world.' There's les and that's all. The winner on May 28th is the champion of Europe and that's all there is to it - there's no solace in empty accolades like 'best team' and whatnot.

I have no idea what to think of this game in terms of who to pull for. I hate MU and dislike Barca... I'll probably end up going with Barca because i'm such a big Messi fan.

I do, however, think MU will win. I believe they'll be a bit more comfortable and willing to attack early. Barca, IMO(I haven't watched but maybe 7 or 8 games of theirs), likes to plod about and play around in the midfield far too much while waiting on LM to do something magnificent.

The main advantage is it being at Wembley, it will feel more or less like a home match for United.

    Nice pregame analysis:

How Manchester United can beat Barcelona
The value of possession to the Spanish side, though, is that they use it almost as thinking time. The first instinct of Busquets, Xavi and Iniesta is to pass, get it back and use that time to see what is developing in front of them.

I approve, but I don't really expect to be posting in a game blog during the game. I want to focus all of my attention on the match. I will make an exception and bump the Messi=GOD thread after his first goal however.

Yeah i kind of doubt i'll be posting anything during the game. No timeouts during the soccer game, and this is the soccer game of the year, so i'll be watching.
