You certainly aren't the only one who thought Bible was going to be an excellent DT at Texas.
Taylor Bible that fat waste of talent, I thought he was going to be a good one.

Greg Brantley has committed Okie State. Brantley probably wasn't in line for a Texas offer, but another possibility is off the board. Brantley has been rumored as a strong Okie State lean for a couple weeks.
Tre'von Armstead make it to Austin, and receive your Texas offer.
The ESPNU 150 is out. 9 Longhorns in the top 100 of the ESPNU 150, Aggie claims ESpin – t sip bias. Ho hum. Another day, another Aggie rankings conspiracy theory.

The esteemed Trey Williams comes in at # 134.
To be fair to the Aggies, they had 3 players in the ESPNU 150:
# 104 Jordan Richmond
# 134 Trey Williams
# 137 Bralon Addison
We'll see if Armstead shows up this weekend. I'm not convinced he gets an offer even if he does attend J12, but being there to work out for the coaches should put him in a nice position.
Some good insight from Recruitocosm. According to what their sources are telling them, Brooks and Sanders' fates are intertwined. I guess the hope is Brooks does eventually move to DB if he were to commit to Texas.
http://recruitocosm.fantake.com/2011...-ready-to-ash/
I think the right approach is taking Armstead now if we can get him while pursuing Peat and Theus until the very end. I think Texas is looking to take 2 more OTs, some of the J5 quotes indicate this.
This is exactly what I'd like to see happen. Pursue the five-stars until National Signing Day and it doesn't matter if you lose out on both as you're already set at the position with Armstead (if you get him), Estelle, Hughes and Riser.
According to ESPNU, Texas is in Theus’ top 6, and Peat and Alexanders’ top 5. That ain’t half bad. Peat’s visit at the end of June should make things more interesting.

Meh, A&M doesn't need him. They already have an elite recruiting class built up.
Is what they are probably saying on texags

*There's some talk about ATH Kendall Sanders of Athens opening up his recruitment and de-committing from Oklahoma State in the future. Teams like Notre Dame and Tennessee have been coming on strong lately and it sounds like he wants to take a look around.
*OL Andrus Peat of Tempe, AZ has a trip to Austin set for the end of June, according to an article on 24/7's main board. He'll be visiting Notre Dame about two weeks before he makes it to UT.
Whats a better paysite TFloss Orangebloods or 247? thinking bout getting one
Scoreboard Aggie: Okie State decommits 3 (possibly 4 soon) - Aggie decommits 2.
Step it up 'Ole Army.
TFloss what's your take on Sanders? Yes the 'Cosm article says they're intertwined; if Brooks commits to Texas, the staff will end their pursuit of Kendall Sanders. But what are your thoughts?
I think Kendall Sanders would have a tough time starting at WR at Texas. If Sanders is dead set on playing WR in college, I believe he is, I think should Texas should move on.
While Brooks is less talented than Sanders, he's more willing to play anywhere at Texas. Agreed this weekend in Norman should be very interesting for the Brooks.
Good news on Andrus Peat. This visit news sounds more firm than his possible J5 visit date. Was the visit news verified from Andrus Peat or his father? I'm sure the red carpet will be out again. I think it's critical that Coach Searels sell Todd Peat (Andrus' father) on Texas. Mr. Peat played in the League, and as we've seen with NFL fathers, the Texas staff must demonstrate a solid plan to get Andrus to the NFL.
The pursuit of Peat is going to be fun to watch. So many recruiting juggernauts going head-to-head
I wasn’t aware that Texas was in Peat’s top 5. ESPN update on Peat:
22. Andrus Peat, OT (Tempe, Ariz./ Corona Del Sol)
Nebraska, USC, Texas, FSU and Notre Dame are five of Peat’s favorites. He will visit Notre Dame and Texas this summer, and he hopes to get to Auburn and Florida.
I'm not in Austin anymore, but this morning I ran into 3 ut players while walking around campus. I was walking by jester when I saw the 3 walking together. I only recognized Desmond Jackson at first, then I realized one of them was leroy scott and I think the other was Mykkele Thompson. Later on in the co-op I saw someone that may have been malcolm brown. He stood pretty much a few inches from me as we both looked at iphone cases. He was sporting the mini-mohawk he has had at times. I'm not quite sure if this one was Malcolm but he looked like him.
Just sharing a new experience![]()
From Gerry H :
empe, Ariz., offensive tackle Andrus Peat reported to BlueandGold.com in May that he would be taking a summer visit and/or an official visit to Notre Dame, and he provided us with an update on those plans.
In addition to a visit tentatively scheduled to Notre Dame, five-star OT Andrus Peat has other destinations in mind.
The 6-7, 280-pound Corona Del Sol High player plans on getting to South Bend on June 17.
"I have to make sure with my dad to see if he made the flight plans and stuff like that, but I'm going to be making a trip in June no matter what," Peat said.
Peat, who is ranked by 247Sports as a five-star recruit, the No. 2 offensive tackle in the country, the No. 1 player in Arizona and the No. 4 overall prospect, recently provided the network with his top 13 schools.
Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oregon, Stanford, Texas and USC made the cut.
"I have done my homework on these schools and I have a great chance to play early at all of them," he told Justin Hopkins of DuckTerritory.com (247Sports Oregon site). "They are all top programs that win a lot of football games. They all offer great academics as well."
In addition to taking a trip to South Bend, Peat has also looked into seeing some of his other favorites this summer.
"I want to get to Texas and then make a trip to some schools in the South like Auburn, Florida and maybe Florida State," he shared. "Texas will be at the end of June and the others in July probably."
When it comes down to a decision timeline, nothing is set in stone at this point according to his father, Todd Peat, Sr.
"I think that's up to Andrus," the elder Peat, who played seven seasons in the NFL, told Charles Power of BamaOnLine.com (247Sports Alabama site). "There were some times where I felt like he might decide early. We want to make sure we do everything in our power to allow him to see the universities that interest him the most."

I'd probably go with OrangeBloods if it's your first time subscribing to a pay site. They have the much larger community and more consistent flow of information, so the conversation never stops. It's definitely the more entertaining place to be. Hook 'Em 24/7 has the best overall information and analysis because Gerry Hamilton simply outworks his compe ion, but that board is dead at times. I'd do the seven day trial for both and decide from there based on what type of forum you're looking for.
*DT Justin Manning of Dallas Kimball is attending J12 this weekend. There was some debate about what his plans were but both OrangeBloods and Hook 'Em 24/7 have him in Austin this weekend. With the possibility of guys like OL/DL Darius James and OL/DL A'Shawn Robinson ending up on the offensive line down the road, I think Manning is a guy the staff must get for 2013. He spent Wednesday camping at OU.
*Speaking of the OU camp, there were a lot of 2013 studs in attendance. OL Jake Raulerson of Celina performed so well that the Sooners decided to offer. I wouldn't worry about this one as I think Raulerson commits to the Longhorns in the early months of 2012. Like I said, you can pencil him in for an offer at the first Junior Day next February. Other studs in attendance yesterday were WRs Jake Oliver of Dallas Jesuit and Derrick Griffin of Rosenberg Terry (see his picture below). Oliver will be in Austin this weekend but Griffin's plans are up in the air at this point because of his summer basketball schedule.

I'm still of the opinion that the staff offered Brooks because they feel he's the better overall prospect. , they might even think he could be the better DB as crazy as it sounds. I do feel Brooks can carve his niche and receive meaningful touches in Harsin's offense as a utility guy whereas Sanders would have a hard time doing that strictly playing WR and competing for playing time with studs like Shipley, Davis, White, Jones, Johnson, etc.
Even if Brooks commits to Texas down the road, I'm not sold that the recruitment is over if Sanders eventually comes around to the idea of playing DB. However, the latest rumors about Sanders de-committing from Okie Lite have him looking first and foremost at the schools offering him as a WR. It almost feels like Sanders won't end up at Texas unless he gives in at the last minute. Throw in a commitment from a guy like Geno Smith or Justin Thomas on top of Brooks and that should be the final nail in the coffin.
