I'd like to see him either go to the Knicks or come back to Dallas to platoon with Kidd.
I actually thought it would be awesome for him and Dirk to play together again, but then I keep thinking about his lack of defense and not sure how it could work. I thought Dirk might have even looked at signing with Phoenix after Amare bolted and he was knocked out of the playoffs again in the first round last season.

If Tony Parker can win a ring playing no defense, then so can Nash
Tony Parker has taken his defense up a level or two in the playoffs during our championship runs and played some outstanding defense.

That is a pretty piss poor take and shows you haven't watched TP at all.

If Nash deserved a ring, he wouldn't have signed a contract extension with a team owned by Robert Sarver. He wouldn't have endorsed Sarver's decision to let Amare leave. He's sleeping in the bed he made.
I think Jason Kidd made a huge, huge mistake resigning with New Jersey instead of us in 2003 and he nearly went out ringless. Why does Nash deserve the same?

When the Suns finally passed the Spurs in 2010, Nash and the Suns were so emotionally drained that the Suns were defeated by the Lakers in a serie they could have won.
    Eres serio?

Peja is as good as gone (probably will retire) and Butler and TC will be easily retained the other 3 (JJB, Cardinal, and Stevenson) idk

Then why would Nash cry after the sweep if it wasn't a big deal for them? The Spurs downed the Suns too many times in the Duncan era, it was the only time the Suns prevailed.

Gentry made a big mistake allowing that show, should have ordered to concentrate immediately in the next opponent, like Pop orders to avoid celebrations after a series if it's not for the championship.

The Suns were the NBA best team after the all-star break.

MJ and Shaq cried winning their first championship after the frustrations of many years trying.

lol thinking the Spurs somehow played a role in the Suns Lakers series
Personally I don't think that crying is appropriate for an adult male (won't even comment about sending lol's and gnsf's, the Spurs issue is a matter of opinion), but understand that some people can't handle their emotions when make their best effort.

Nash seems to be that kind of person.

Perhaps he wouldn't be able to play so well if he didn't push himself too much. Objectively, he overachieved for his talent, who would think he woiuld ever win one MVP's, much less two consecutive MVP's. The few other players that have done that are/were much bigger, quicker or athletic.

You're responding to the post explaining why Nash deserves to retire ringless. He chose to sign a lucrative extension in 2009, just like Kidd chose to resign with New Jersey. Nash has said he doesn't give a flying about retiring ringless. Probably why he endorsed the decision to let Amare leave.

I didn't know he said he doesn't care about not winning a ring. If that is the case maybe Nash should go be with himself .

Nash doesn't play defense which limit his chances to get a ring as an important player of a team. The more minutes he plays, there are more chances for other teams to get easy baskets.

Nowitzki is average on defense and a very good rebounder, that gets complemented by other defensive oriented bigs.

However, playing offensive bball Nash went three times to the WCF with Phoenix and once with Dallas. He could win it all in various runs, and they definitely tried to win the championship in 2010. The teams that have downed the Suns in 2007 and 2010 were unable to defend but could (barely) outscore them. So perhaps it's possible to win it all with great offense and marginal defense.

Nash probably thinks it's better to lead a contender than play a small role on a championship team. 4 WCF trips and 2 MVP's is extremely solid resume.

Amare wanted to leave and the Suns wanted him traded since long time.

nash is old as , there is no guarantee that his value won't just crash at any time, making him a terrible signing. who knows if he could go to the heat and do what he did this past year. they all fall off sometime..
And that's your rationale for going with a 38 year old Jason Kidd?

Nash said that he is not going to go ring chasing, because there is no guarantee that he could get to a certain team OR that the team he goes to is going to win the championship, and that its more important to him to play with a group of guys that he likes, in a city he calls home, in a situation where he is having fun and enjoying basketball then running around chasing a ring he might not ever get. Of course he wants to win a ring, but its not the most important thing in his life.

As far as Amare, the problem isn't not resigning him and all of his flaws for $20M, but rather, the choices made with the money saved after the fact. Hedo/Childress/Warrick, REALLY?

As for now, Gortat closed out last season as one of the best centers in the league; Lets see how Phoenix does with someone besides Vince Carter's corpse starting at 2. If they could get J Rich back as a free agent, watch out.

For me, I'd love to have him in a Spurs uniform, but I don't think that he likes the Spurs and wouldn't consider coming here.

Dallas makes the most sense. I would really like to see him go back to the Mavs, that would be awesome to see. Move Kidd over to the 2 for stretches/bring him off the bench. Nash >> Kidd. Come on now.

New York makes the perfect sense but Melo's gonna have to play transition ball instead of stagnating the offense with iso plays.
