Never was much of a Kobe fan, but Lakers are stuck with him. It is what it is.

There are big men worse than Varejao making more or comparable money, tbh. It's really not a bad contract, imho.

I still think Ferry did pretty well in a tough situation, without many assets.
Yeah, turning down an Amare trade at the 2010 deadline because he didn't wanna trade JJ Hickson was clearly because he lacked assets![]()
DoK, if you have anything real that explains why that deal fell through would you mind showing it? Because I've heard it both ways- that Kerr backed off, not Ferry.
IIRC at the time you were laughing at the idea that the Suns would trade STAT for Hickson. Now you're saying there was an actual deal on the table and that Ferry turned it down.
At the time I'm pretty sure I remember hearing that Kerr offered a deal and Ferry saved him from his own stupidity. Me saying "There's no way the Suns do this" out of anger they'd make a re ed trade with no info to back it up is different.
Do you agree that if indeed Ferry was offered that and turned it down because of JJ Hickson he's in re ed?
Also, Ferry made some awesome free agency acquisitions, like Donyell Marshall and Larry hughes.

You ever been to Cleveland, DoK? Ever been to Cleveland in January? This isn't exactly a mecca for free agents. Anyway Larry Hughes was Ferry's third choice in the summer of 2005, after he was turned down by Ray Allen and Michael Redd (who would have been a worse acquisition than Hughes.) LeBron's rookie contract was up after the next season and the Cavaliers hadn't even made the playoffs yet; Ferry had to go out and get somebody.Also, Ferry made some awesome free agency acquisitions, like Donyell Marshall and Larry hughes.
Cleveland was screwed when they used a lottery pick on Luke Jackson, let Carlos Boozer walk and traded another lottery pick for Jiri Welsch. None of those moves happened on Ferry's watch. The only chance the Cavaliers had to really build a team around LeBron was through the draft and they pretty much shot that option by the time Ferry showed up.
I'm not saying the man is Red Auerbach but to paint him as a scapegoat for the way things went down is stupid, imho. He was fighting an uphill battle from the time he arrived.
Pretty sure Varejao is Brazilian for "vagina". Surely someone here speaks Brazilian.
Hickson = future HFer
No because there's no such language.
