Inside Texas' Blake Monroe is also reporting that Josh Thomas holds a Texas offer. That's 2 separate , well respected media outlets, it appears legitimate.
It's weird that 24/7 Hook 'Em seems to think this offer is not "committable" until the first Junior Day. They basically said if Thomas were to call the UT staff right now and want to commit, he'd be turned down. Is that not contradictory? Would the staff do the same for QB Tyrone Swoopes, OL Jake Raulerson or DB Marcell Harris if they wanted to commit before February as well? I believe the first part that Thomas is supposed to understand that an official offer is coming down the road in February, but no way does the staff say "call back later" should he want to commit before that point. I'm sorry but that's crazy talk.

Would you prefer skepticism or fence sitting from the Hook Em 247 staff Floss? Because you're going to get both. Great information, but the next time any of the Hook Em staff goes out on a limb will be the first.

Floss please tell me that Jordan's offer and commitment has no bearing on Texas offering Colin Blake or passing on Landon Collins. Texas offering Kendall Sanders or Dalton Santos seems like a distant, distant pipe dream. Enjoy your place kicker AND kick off specialist Mack. Mack fears kicker dead leg like Augie fears gorilla ball.

I wish I could. That fact that UT offered a kicker a full ride when scholarships numbers are extremely tight makes you wonder WTF is really going on. Hopefully that's a good sign that we'll be seeing some of the bad seeds bow out and this will give the coaches some more wiggle room for offers down the line.

It's basically saying Reader wants an offer from Texas as he's grown up a fan of the Longhorns and wanted to be a part of the team since the national le days. If he had his way, he'd like to make an unofficial visit in the fall for a game and then make a return trip on an official visit at the end of the year. He has an aunt that lives about ten minutes from campus and he's already been to Austin a couple of times in the past. He thinks it would be an ideal situation for him since he's already comfortable with the city, what the UT program has to offer, etc. He's hoping to hear more from the staff once they can start making calls to recruits again at the beginning of July. He's currently fielding over 25 offers.

Article on QB Connor Brewer. Tipsy had the opportunity to talk with him the past few days. Good to hear that he's reaching out to ATH Nelson Agholor and WR Dorial Green-Beckham.

I think attrition is coming Floss, eventually. Three current players are in hot water with the staff, and after the depth chart is set at the end of fall camp we'll see more players leave the program. However, it's way too early to offer a kicker. Maybe Texas offered Jordan to keep him away from OU, but we could have waited until the fall.

Correction on WR Cayleb Jones from yesterday. He will not be able to be on campus when OL Andrus Peat is in Austin the weekend of July 22-24. Jones will be in Orlando at that time participating in the Gridiron Kings 7-on-7 event. Some other members of the 2012 class could be there along with QB Connor Brewer. Peat has been talking mostly with Brewer, Jones and Riser for the past few months.

Good stuff Floss. Hopefully, Bo or Stacy reaches out to Reader in July. I'm still amazed by Reader's film. From those quotes, it sounds like Reader is there for the taking.

Floss is the Gridiron Kings an all star event or a team event event? Austin High hasn't done well in local 7 on 7 tournaments. They would probably get smoked against national compe ion.

I wish Cayleb could be in Austin for some of Peat's visit. At the very least, I hope Curtis will be in town. Talk up a left side of Riser and Peat.

It's an all-star event where the best offensive and defensive skill players in the country are divided into regional squads to compete against each other. Four Longhorns and four Ags on the Southwest team. Here's a link to look at the rosters for this year's event:

Reading about him, he seemed like a target for a lot of schools.

He must have been as close to 4 star as possible without being a 4 star.

He would be ok, but I'm not sure why you guys are getting so excited over a 3 star kid.

Interesting, Strahan was expected to be in Aggie's NG rotation as soon as this season:

    @AggieyellRivals
    Aggieyell.com
2011 Nose Guard LaMarc Strahan from Blinn failed to qualify for A&M and will not be in this fall. Big problems for the D-line. #TAMU

I won't try to figure out what's going on with this one like I did the news earlier in the week on 2013 OT Josh Thomas of Shreveport Evangel Christian, but the big news of the day is 2013 QB Tyrone Swoopes of Whitewright was verbally offered by Texas after the June 12th camp. Call it what you will; a committable offer, offer in waiting or non-committable offer. No matter how you slice it, Swoopes is your guy for 2013. The UT staff even talked to his father on the phone after sitting down with Swoopes. Important to remember that Swoopes' father was coached by Bruce Chambers in high school so the Longhorns have a great advantage there.

Wow Floss. I thought we'd see Texas change their approach some on offering sop res, but not this soon. I like it. Texas is evolving to keep up with their compe ors. It stands to reason that Jake Raulerson, Darius James A'Shawn Robinson and Marcell Harris had similar conversations with Mack, but that information isn't public, yet.

While Bruce Chambers isn't the best talent evaluator, he is a good recruiter and has connections all over the state. With Wyatt recruiting Swoopes, and Chambers' in with the Swoopes' father, you have to like Texas' chances.

In my opinion, the staff is correct in making Swoopes their guy for 2013. I know Swoopes sounds like a no brainer, but J.T. Barrett and Chris Johnson both turned heads at Texas camps. Swoopes apparently was more impressive, and of course he has the immense upside.

Floss between you and me, I heard Harsin really likes our chances on landing Swoopes.

From Bobby Burton. Regional network my ass haters:

UT and ESPN (The Longhorn Network) may have picked up its first national distribution deal. Hearing it's DirectTV, specifically on the sports tier nationally. No confirmation on a signed deal.

I read that Swoopes really enjoyed his time with Harsin at J12. Combine a decent record at the end of the 2011 season with the 2012 commitments already working on some of the 2013 guys, you may see an exciting start to that class when February rolls around.

I couldn't agree more. Especially with a national network helping to promote The University and The Brand.

I think Swoopes will take awhile to commit to Texas, but I think we get him by the summer of 2012.

Per the guy at my work there is nothing solid on Dalton Santos. He is making trips to some SEC schools throughout the summer but no real info on which one he's leaning towards.
