Oh, I think she was guilty. I just don't think the evidence was anywhere near as overwhelming as it was in the Simpson case. The OJ verdict should have been like a complete slam dunk and maybe required like five minutes of deliberation.

People all over the internet who are comparing this to the OJ verdict are re ed. There was a ton of practically incontrovertible DNA evidence in the OJ trial, a clear motive, and a slew of other evidence. Here they couldn't even establish a cause of death, their motive was solid but not as convincing as in the OJ case, and since the defense admitted to burying the baby it came down to whether they believed for certain it was a murder or an accident. Horrible comparison tbqh.

Yeah, I've seen that comparison an insane number of times around the web today. Thats the only trial where someone got off that people use as a reference point. I guess because its the only one people all know of.

Anyway, it sucks that unlike with Robert Blake and OJ theres no one that can sue Anthony in civil court. Because I honestly expect her to get a reality show or book deal or something which will probably get big ratings/sales and make her rich.

The jury has to go with the evidence presented to them and should not decide based on what they feel or what their gut is telling them. There was no actual evidence linking Casey to the murder. None. It was all cir stantial and you gotta give props to the defense who did their job and to have a unanimous decision proves that.

The difference is that since there doesn't seem to be anyone to file a civil case (wrongful death) against her, Casey Anthony can profit from this whole sordid mess.
