At least 3 offside calls against Mexico that shouldn't have been called.

I think that the only goals this Mexican team had was for a few players to showcase themselves, if possible, and to use the tournament as preparation for the pre-Olympic tournament.

You gotta be tin me.... it's about time. If the rumor is true, I'm quite surprised Batista is changing the formation, I thought the change would only be in the players, using Higuain and Aguero, finally.

The only way the future is in our hands is with a win.
If we tie, we depend on Bolivia not beating Colombia. If Bolivia beats Colombia, Colombia, Bolivia and Costa Rica all end up with 4 points and we're done.
If we tie, and Bolivia ties or loses, we're third with 3 points.
    If we lose, we're done.
If Bolivia would have won, we could beat Costa Rica and still not qualify with a draw between Colombia and Bolivia. That's why I said the Costa Rica win benefited us.

Wait, what do you mean not qualify? we would've been tied with Colombia and Bolivia with 5 points, same or better goal differential as Colombia... That's very likely we move on in that case.

pps: Cue a DAF86 meltdown for even suggesting that Messi can be compared to Riquelme.
I wasn't going to say anything but since you ask for me...

Riquelme is the most overrated Argie player of all time. I'm not saying he wasn't great, I loved him when he was an up and comer in Boca but then he got so overrated by fans that I started to grow some feelings against him, his little diva at ude helps increase those feelings too.

This guy was voted the "best player after Maradona" in Argentina. No, no "the best Argentinian player after Maradona", the best period. Yeah, you heard right, people in Argentina people voted him ahead of Messi, Zidane, Ronaldo, Cruyff, Pele, etc. That's how overrated he is.

Riquelme nowadays can't play two games in a row without getting injured and there's still people that said that he is the best player in the World, yeah with a straight face and all.

The same fans that like to rag on Messi for never doing anything with the national team want Riquelme on the team like if he has ever done anything with Argentina's shirt. For big part of his prime Riquelme wasn't even considered to be on the NT squad. Then Pekerman got along and gave him a vital role. Where let's be honest he didn't shine, that's why Pekerman (one of Riquelme's biggest fans) subbed him out on the most important game of the tournament for Argentina.

And don't even get me started on his at ude issues, he had problems everywhere he went and even Basile (another Riquelme defender) said that he was a strange guy and denied Riquelme's comments about them beign friends.

In conclusion, Riquelme was a very good player but nowhere close to what some fans in Argentina think of him

P/S: Ortega >> Riquelme on the NT.

I should have phrase it better: "we could have not qualify with a win" whereas now we now that no matter what happens in the other game we qualify with a win.
