You gotta be tin me.... it's about time. If the rumor is true, I'm quite surprised Batista is changing the formation, I thought the change would only be in the players, using Higuain and Aguero, finally.

tbh, this is still a FAIL in the long run, IMO. It probably be enough to beat Costa Rica and an improvement over playing 3 defensive midfielders, but as seen in the World Cup, Messi isn't a playmaker. That boat has already sailed.

There's no magic wand or single player that's going to fix everything, but Messi should play upfront, and we've a fairly talented playmaker in Pastore on the bench.

If I had to modify that lineup from midfield and up, I would go with this:

Romero

Zabaleta Burdisso Milito Zanetti

Mascherano (Gago or Cambiasso)

Messi Pastore DiMaria

Higuain
