    yes.

Don't you find it odd that it's taking so long for such a globally popular sport to catch on in such a sport hungry country like the US?

    I do.

    I literally just face palmed.

Of course you dont play tackle football in the street.

You never played touch in the street? And of course you dont play 11 on 11 with an offensive line etc.

    WTF?

You've never seen kids playing in Africa or South America with a rolled up ball of tape because they don't' have a soccer ball? You've never seen them playing with tiny goals in an alley - something like 2v2 or w/e?

    Good lord.

No, I never played touch in the street.
It was only tackle football on the field(someone's big yard) with enough players to have a solid game.

    I have.

Hard to roll up a football of tape, tbh.
The tape would cost more than the football.

well there is your problem. So many requirements for football.

You can have a decent soccer game with 4 guys and a ball.

crofl I've never seen such re ation from Blake before. He very well may have shown it before and I hadn't noticed, but jesus christ...
crofl I still have yet to see someone explain why soccer will one day overtake one of the big three in America.

crofl I think it's rather re ed you want to discuss me instead of soccer in a soccer thread.

Anyway, I'm not sure that it's just pure coincidence, however, that the vast majority of Americans believe gays should not be allowed to marry, that everything in the bible is true, and also that marijuana is a more harmful substance than alcohol. I really hope it's pure coincidence that these things are true, but it could be the case that the majority are re s.

Everything boggles back down to the main argument: soccer is boring because the majority of Americans say so . That's literally the only "argument" being made.
If people say soccer bores them, then by definition it's boring.

Not hard to simply have a football and play on any random patch of grass, as is done all over the country. Growing up, did you only play pick up football if there were at least 22 kids for 11 vs 11, 22 sets of shoulder pads, helmets, knee and thigh pads, cleats, and a lined field with goal posts? We simply grabbed a ball and played. Wow. That sounds identical to soccer, the costs are essentially equal. I'm not up to date with soccer ball and football prices, but I would imagine them being around the same price.
not arguing pick up games in the street.

Organized football is what is very costly.

I threw beautiful long bombs, Blake.

In any event, its cool that you don't like soccer. Your arguments of trying to somehow substantiate that beyond it being your opinion are pretty laughable. I'm pretty sure at some point you'll fall back on the tired old "LOL I WAS TROLLING" excuse, though.

Cool. First time I've ever heard of someone making a tape football that works.

I like watching soccer fan get riled up for sure, but aside from the costs of playing organized football, I haven't claimed truth on anything else.

If someone says it's boring, it is by definition 'boring'.

The word 'boring' itself is by nature an opinionated word.

Anyone trying to make anything out beyond that is rather re ed, in my opinion.

Its already bigger than the NHL in this country and pretty soon MLB then the NBA.
    lmfao substantiate

is this a troll job too?

that the US doesn't/can't impose it's sports on other countries.
My point is that people will play/watch a sport because they like it, it doesn't matter how expensive it is.

    Not so much.

Amateur play at even the high school level costs loads more than some match between Serena and Venus.

lol why should anyone believe that tennis costs more, just because you say so.

and lmao having to buy clothes to play tennis.

it does not cost more to play organized tennis than organized tackle football.

ftr, I can/have played tennis plenty of times for no cost at the local high school. Racquet is a one time cost, roughly same as the football. Balls are +/- $3 a can. If you want to claim $3 > $0, then goody, you win that argument.
If people like a sport they play it anyway they can, it doesn't matter if they play "tackle", "touch", 11 vs 11, 2 vs 2 or whatever. I say that tennis is more expensive to play than American football, 'cause the minimum required to play it is a lot more expensive.

To play American football the only thing you need is a ball. To play tennis the very least you need is a racquet and a ball (you actually need a court too, but if you want I'll not count that).

Let's not count the tenis balls, a racquet > a football in terms of "expensiveness".

Your premise is that American football isn't popular worldwide 'cause it is too expensive to play, but that isn't true, American football isn't popular worlwide simply 'cause people don't give a .

My point is that people will play/watch a sport because they like it, it doesn't matter how expensive it is.
organized American tackle football is just not an accessible sport for the masses to play, primarily due to the costs, imo.

the American sport of basketball is cheap to play, easy to learn and accessible to the masses.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if basketball some day became the world's most popular sport.

If people like a sport they play it anyway they can, it doesn't matter if they play "tackle", "touch", 11 vs 11, 2 vs 2 or whatever.
No school that I know of gives scholarships for touch football. Doubtful they would ever sell tickets to watch it if they did, imo.

The rules aren't exactly simple for football either. In soccer and basketball, you pick up the ball and you pretty much know what to do.

    Football, not so much, imo.

I say that tennis is more expensive to play than American football, 'cause the minimum required to play it is a lot more expensive.
Great, I say you're still wrong.

To play American football the only thing you need is a ball. To play tennis the very least you need is a racquet and a ball (you actually need a court too, but if you want I'll not count that).

Winning payouts aside, it is absolutely true that playing organized high school tackle football costs more than organized professional tennis.

People don't give a because they really don't have either the desire or the means to fund it, imo.

TBH, I hate the fact that Americans, (most notoriously, Texans) spend tax money on building multi-million dollar high school football stadiums.

but the ball still goes through the hoop about 50+ times a game.

Get rid of the goalie, shrink the size of the goal and the field, maybe raise the goal up ten feet in the air and then maybe soccer has something worth watching, imo.
