Here's the transcript from Mack Brown's time at the podium today:

Floss, I read that too on Blake. Blake deserves a lot of credit for being patient and thoughtful during the recruiting process. If Blake and Justin Thomas are waiting to pounce on a UT offer, I fully support Texas waiting out Landon Collins.

Sucks that Mack isn't even there during his visit (I hope Searels is at least there). Also sucks that it's both cooler and raining in Phoenix.
Will Zeke Pike STFU with his dumbass tweets already.
Gridiron Kings is on ESPNU at 6pm texas time.
Rivals has finally released their 2012 recruiting rankings, Texas is #1 of course.
Top 5 is:

Florida

Michigan
Texas

Hopefully the Horns can show everyone up this year...never thought of UT as a dark horse, but that's exactly what they are this year.
The Beavs are at #21. I'll take that. We're doing really well in our recruiting.
Listening to Mack's press conference today, I get the feeling that Ash is going to be the starter sooner rather than later.
I saw it on ESPNU, im sure its somewhere. I think Tfloss posted a link on the last page
Peat did make it to Austin finally but I can't confirm the time. He's scheduled to depart tomorrow around 7 p.m. Stacy Searels left Big 12 Media Days early to meet him on campus. We'll know tomorrow if Mack Brown was able to make it back or not. Peat knew that this would be the set-up ahead of time for anyone who's wondering. He'll be back for an official visit in the fall and he'll be treated even better then.
Some NFL news on former Longhorns...
-WR James Kirkendoll to sign with the Tennessee ans
-WR John Chiles to sign with the New Orleans Saints
-P John Gold to sign with the Seattle Seahawks
Floss wasn't Monday the primary media day for Texas? OK State, OU, Kansas, KSU and ISU are going today. I would hope that Mack can find a couple hours to go meet Peat and his grandfather in Austin. I like that Searels is in town, but Peat deserves the Mack and Sally treatment.
I'm honestly not sure how it all works as far as his schedule. He may very well have other engagements afterwards. We'll know for sure today.
Good news is WR Cayleb Jones will be on campus today according to a convo he had with QB Connor Brewer's dad:
@crbrew2215
robert brewer
@Cayleb_JonesTx4 ..have you hooked up with Andrus yet. ?? Its CB dad..
Cayleb replies:
@crbrew2215 what's up! Not yet. I plan to tomorrow.
@crbrew2215

@Cayleb_JonesTx4 ..Connors up north at high school camp .seal the deal with Andrus , we need him,he's the anchor of that line.he's the best.
Per Hook Em 247 , Mack is on his way back to Austin to meet with Peat. You have to like Texas' chances. Mack doesn't miss on many recruits that he is able to meet with in his office.
Great news.
Brown did end up having some sort of press conference this morning. He left Dallas around 10 a.m. according to that same report.
Looks like the Philadelphia Eagles picked up former A&M QB Jerrod Johnson today.
Let's hope Johnson has better luck with this former Green Bay Packer than the last one.
That's not the only Longhorn they cut. Roy Williams was also cut.
I was actually surprised by this. Unless there's some new rules in the labor agreement that I'm unaware of, cutting Williams will actually cost them a bunch in 2012. Jerry was quoted saying that the Cowboys will basically be able to do whatever they want in free agency, so maybe they've figured out a way to work things out. If someone here can expound upon this, please let us know.
I really need some Peat info.
All we know as of now is:
Peat is in Austin
Mack and Stacy are there
Peat likes the weather
Cayleb Jones might be there
Peat's been spending time with Jackson Jeffcoat, his "host"

Pop, per Orangebloods, Peat's visit went well. Nothing more to mention right now.
