    OK, if you want to make an extremely noticeable improvement in speed, do this

    My only complaint was that apps opened sloooooowly, but after doing just the first part of this (with the dialer pad), apps take about 1/4th the time to load. There are other speed enancements that I haven't tried in that article, but suffice to say the first (easy) part is more than enough.

    before you do this make sure that you have a skype account attached to the TP

    If you were charged + got order # but NO confirmation email. Up to you if you want to cancel, but worth a shot 2 hang in there. More coming.

    Chances R good IF 1) were charged 2) got order # email 3) sent another final confirmation email. If one of those is missing...don't hate me.

    If one of those are missing (see prev. tweet) then you are backordered and have to hope for the best when more come in. #touchpad

    I'm in the same situation. I placed the order w/ them this morning, was charged, but still have no email from them of any sort. I'm assuming I'm not going to get it.

    But I was able to get one through the Amazon link Drachen posted earlier. Hopefully that order is solid.

    You know, given the number of units selling for around $300 on eBay, etc. you wonder what would have happened if HP in their infinite wisdom had released this at $299 instead of $499. OK, they would have lost money, but not as much as the idiots are losing doing what they just did, and they could have built a critical mass to attract app developers and then come out with a much better follow-on product. WebOS is pretty cool, but the hardware is strictly 2009.

    A friend works at HP and they are livid because the employees didn't get a chance at any of these bargain units. Apparently the company offered them some sort of deal when they first came out, and I bet they don't give them any kind of rebate now.
