Manny, you know the one thing I don't get or like about this tablet: When you are watching a movie (say Amazon or what ever), it doesn't screen flip. You can only watch it one way and it's the way with the speakers facing down which sucks because you normally hold it on you lap standing up with the speakers pressed against you.

I am not trying to be mean or anything here, but honestly of all the people here, I probably have had the TP the longest (saturday morning). I state this because many of these problems that you are having could probably be easily fixed, or figured out by going to precentral.net where there are true experts. I have been hanging out there a lot lately (as well as the xda-developers "HP touchpad" forum) to learn from them. It seems that WebOS users are extremely helpful and friendly. I would even argue that they are excited to teach you about their OS of choice. You may receive much more prompt and complete support there.

I really don't care if you continue asking operational questions here (we will probably learn something together), however, you probably won't get as frustrated with the device if you ask someone who knows.

I'm not a tekie person at all, so I don't really pick up stuff like this and figure it all out quickly. I mean, I can operate it quickly now from what I know and my issues are rather small, but I really only care about putting movies on it and it just takes some work which I really don't want to do, but I guess I have to.

As I have been perusing the precentral forums I remember reading about a media player that plays every (or almost every) single codec. cant remember what it is called though. Definitely go to that first link I gave you though, you can speed up your TP pretty freakin much.

I will be quite honest, the first change I made was responsible for the biggest performance increase. It was the one where I set the TP to minimal logging by typing ##LOGS# into the dialer and adjusting the logging preferences.

Not to say that the other patches and the OC make no difference, but they speed it up to a lesser degree.

DPG is right about the speakers from what I've seen, why on earth does it do that? It does a few different things, or design ideas that just don't make a ton of sense.

I did... even the "make it so" patch . If you read that whole thread you would find that it is extremely easy to uninstall patches or do a complete wipe if you needed to. Go for it.

Drac: A few things I'm not clear on from reading that and doing the fixes:

1) Do you always keep the "Developer Mode" on, even after you're done with the fixes?

2) Do you have to do anything after installing the patches or if you did the little re-starts, should you be good to go, because I know that browsing history one doesn't seem to be working because it's continuing to save my searches.

Edit: I figured out the private browsing. You have to click on the web drop down once it launches and you can enable it. Turns the search bar red. I'm still not sure about the other fixes though (do I have to do anything for any other ones bc after reading their features, I don't see anything I have to do).
