In that case Shield would pitch Games 2 and 5. Normal rest between games 2 and 5.

Rays are going with Matt Moore in Game 1. uhhh ok.....
I am interested in this series. I have mad respect for the Rangers, and it would be great to see them shut those dumbass Tampa fans up. On the flip side, Tampa going to the World Series would be an even easier championship round for the Phillies than 2008.
Won't happen..Rangers in 5...and with the rhythm the Cards are on, Phillies might have some difficulty with them.
The Cards are this years Cincinnati Reds. I'd be stunned if they were to even win a game. The Phillies will easily sweep them.
Does anyone wanna buy my two spare tickets to the game tomorrow? Face value is $40. I'll be there with my dad, but two others won't be able to attend because of the game time. I really hope I don't have to eat these.
i would but i think its too late to get the afternoon off
Rays probably going with Moore because Niemann lasted 1 2/3 innings in his last outing and hasn't been healthy the last couple weeks. It says a lot about how confident the staff is in Moore, who only has one career start in the Majors. During that start though, he racked up 11 Ks in just five innings of work and flashed command of all three of his plus-plus pitches (fastball, curveball, change-up). He's the top pitching prospect in the game and a future ace of the Rays rotation.
I guess we'll see if the future is now.
Dude your act is tired, just give it up.
phillies are not a lock to the ws
That is right, ducks. They are not a lock to go to the world series. They are a lock to win the world series.
It is going to get much worse when your ty team gets eliminated from the postseason. Rays fans actually thinking they have a realistic shot at winning a world series is comedy. You ought to give up having faith in a team that will fail and not act like those other rays fans.
Thank god, they just sold. Got half of what I paid for them, but I don't care. I'd rather lose money on the deal than have two empty seats next to me. No way was I eating these tickets. It's the ing playoffs and I want an ass in every seat.
100% honest truth, if the Phillies played the Rangers in the WS, how many games would you pick the Phillies in?
Phillies in a tough 6 games. The Rangers wouldn't be a walk in the park like Tampa would be.
Fair enough. Coming into the playoffs, I am confident the Rangers could beat anyone. Don't mistake that for predicting it though. If we played the Phillies in the WS, I wouldn't predict the Rangers to win. I'd have to go with Philly.
What I am about to say means nothing at all. But what I do like is how the Rangers have a history against Halladay, Lee, and Oswalt. Hamels has only pitched one game vs Texas and got roughed up. As for the other three: Halladay of course used to be in the AL. Same with Lee. And Oswalt faced the Rangers every year while he was with Houston. And the Rangers have hit them all well over their careers.
Oswalt: 4.28 ERA, .291 opp avg
Lee: 4.91 ERA, .269 opp avg
Halladay: 5.17 ERA, .285 opp avg
Again, all this means nothing. Those three pitched against Texas this season and all did very well. Different Rangers lineup in years past; different matchups; completely different situations. But what I'm getting at is simply the fact that the Rangers have experience against the Phillies rotation. As opposed to last year against the Giants. The Rangers had no idea what they were getting into. Lince , Cain, Sanchez, and Bumgarner have all spent their entire careers with the Giants. No AL experience at all.
you do know the giants kicked the out of the phillies last year
the terrible nl west
I am not saying dbacks in the nl west will win it all
but the cards are hot and in the playoffs it is who is the hottest that wins. and who the hottest pitchers are
I think it's still who the better pitchers are. Cliff Lee had been sucking ass (by his standards at least) heading into last year's playoffs. But he was really good in Game 1 of the ALDS; even better in Game 5; and flat out nasty in Game 3 of the ALCS. He did get roughed up some in the first WS game. But overall, he was terrific.
I also think the Cards will get swept.
interesting stat I heard the other day
this season, when Hamilton, Beltre, and Cruz have been in the starting lineup, the Rangers are like 45-10 or something in that range. pretty damn good, considering how a number of these games had them still getting back in a groove after injury (well, not Beltre, he hit the ground running)
i wonder if Wash starts Chavez over Murph tonight, as Murph is not good against lefties, while Chavez has dominated lefties this year. I bet Moreland sits as well, with Torrealba in.
1st pitch - strike!
its ing over
rangers sweep
. I missed it.
