Good looking recruit. Tall, excellent muscle development.
Another name for the 2013 class to watch out for:
LB/DE, Mike Mitc , Plano West (6-4, 215)
He's another prospect that's orginally from Florida and moved to Texas after his freshman year in high school. He played his sop re year at Plano Prestonwood Christian before moving over to Plano West.
Good looking recruit. Tall, excellent muscle development.
JUCO RB Marion Grice has committed to A&M

It's incredible to see a guy that young to have that much perspective about the whole thing. It's pretty refreshing.
Sounds like the Ags anticipate Michael leaving early for the NFL.
Hope that's not the case, but definitely needed some insurance if it were to happen. Our 3rd RB Ben Malena hasn't exactly shown he'd be able to handle it.
JUCO LB Eddie Porter has committed to A&M as well. Him and Grice are teammates. Not surprising given our Linebacker performance so far this season.

Record week for Green-Beckham.
QB Stephen Garcia has been dismissed by South Carolina. Just waiting to see if Spurrier will allow him to come back for the 18th time.

Ahhhhhhhh... this is why I didn't see Davis at RRR game.

Torshiro Davis sets Texas visit
October, 11, 2011 Oct 11
By William Wilkerson
AUSTIN, Texas -- Class of 2012 defensive end Torshiro Davis (Shreveport, La./Woodlawn) told HornsNation on Tuesday that he will be in attendance with his mother for Texas’ home game against Oklahoma State on Oct. 15.
Davis, an LSU commitment, has been intrigued with the Longhorns ever since Texas’ defensive tackles coach Bo Davis came over from Alabama. The two Davis’ got to know each other during the summer going into Torshiro’s sop re year at an Alabama camp where Bo Davis was the Crimson Tide’s defensive line coach.
Torshiro Davis was going to go to Texas’ game against Oklahoma on Oct. 8 so his mother could speak with the Texas coaching staff, but Bo Davis told Torshiro they probably wouldn’t have much time to talk. Thus, the reason for this trip, which could turn out to be a huge weekend for the Longhorns (4-1).
UT will have to flat-out WOW Davis to have any shot and it doesn't help that his mother is pretty comfortable with LSU.
More on the possibility of taking a second QB in the 2012 class...we all know that Harsin has requested film on the likes of Del Barnes of Henderson and TJ Millweard of Forth Worth All-Saints, but now there is a third QB in the mix; Tommy Armstrong of Cibolo Steele. This prospect excites me the most because not only is he from the San Antonio area, but he has the best combination of arm strength and speed/mobility out of the three guys. He recently committed to Nebraska so that will be a hurdle UT will have to overcome, but it doesn't hurt at all that his former running mate, RB Malcolm Brown, is already suiting up for the Longhorns.

Meh. I saw him play at least twice in high school and he didn't really impress me. Though I wasn't really paying as much attention to him as I was Malcolm.
I forgot to add to the post above that QB Del Barnes has not heard from the staff since Harsin called request film a few weeks ago, but he is going to call UT this week to find out if he can make an unofficial visit to Austin for the Oklahoma State game.
I really like what I saw in Armstrong's senior film. I'm not sure if Steele got a new quarterback's coach or a new OC, but he's made a leap from his sop re and junior year to now. He's a true dual threat quarterback, he can really really spin it. I'll second that Floss, Armstrong is most exciting prospect being evaluated for the second QB spot.
I really like taking a dual threat quarterback to pair off with Connor Brewer. Brewer is a pro style quarterback, why take a quarterback with the same skill set? I always like the thought of taking Armstrong as an ATH, but if Texas offers him as a QB I think it could change his mind on Nebraska.
We live in interesting times.
I can understand why Pop said "meh" on Armstrong because he didn't jump out at you during his junior season although I thought he improved as he went along (especially through last year's state championship run). Now that he has to be the leader of that Steele team, I think he's just a different player. He's not the kind of guy where UT would put all of their eggs into the Armstrong basket and take only him at QB, but I think he'd be a nice insurance pickup to go along with Brewer and help with QB depth.
Another 2013 DB prospect to keep an eye on per Hook 'Em 24/7. Apparently another track star:
CB, Chad Davis, Fort Bend Bush (5-10, 165)

Dorial Green-Beckham to visit Missouri unofficially this weekend according to this tweet http://twitter.com/#!/GabeDeArmond
If its not us, I hope its them.
Thanks, Mex.
I haven't seen this yet, but he was in Fayetteville last weekend for Arkansas/Auburn. I still think that's a sleeper school for him. Mizzou isn't very good but they're close to home.
Inna Lazarev from Scout reported yesterday teams sure to make Peat's visit list are Texas, Florida State, Nebraska and Stanford.
We played Steele in the third game of the season. At that point, they did not look like a championship contender (we won, though Malcolm of course pulled of a few 50+ yard touchdown runs.). Considering they went on to win it all, both Armstrong and the team must have improved by a lot. So you're right, he's not a bad choice for an insurance pickup.
