Stick to fishing.
Does your dumb ing ass even know the definition of the word "homer?" Seeing as he isn't a fan of either the Celtics or Lakers, I'd like to see you explain how he is a "homer" for that statement you piece of . I swear some of you are so stupid it should be a crime.
Stick to fishing.
After watching that third quarter, there was only one possession Prince was on Duncan. It was off a Detroit miss when Duncan beat Ben Wallace down the floor and Prince had to to pick him up. Wallace decided he wasn't going to double off Horry at the spot he sunk Sacramento from, so Duncan got an easy 3 point play on the right block. There was an inbounds play where Horry screened Ben and Prince had to close out on Duncan as he fired a shot to beat the shotclock too. Not sure why Wallace didn't fight harder through it.
I believe so. But there were 3 of them, not just 2. If 1 fouls out, you got the other 2 for the remainder of the game and then that's when you try to figure things out with a makeshift line-up.
I don't think Williamson would have helped much. And losing Okur did suck, but at the time under that CBA (pre the Arenas early Bird rights rule), the Pistons couldn't keep both Rasheed and Okur. It was one or the other. They made the right choice keeping Rasheed.
I think it changes quite a few things. With only one real big, you can't switch off in the paint when there's traffic, you can't pack the paint with 2 bigs, you aren't doubling with 2 bigs. Plus, the entire season, the Pistons never really went small like that (at least not for a meaningful stretch of a game that I had recalled) but they do it in game 7 of the Finals? Prince hadn't played PF before that season.
The first season Prince really started spending legitimate time at PF was the 2008-09 season under Michael Curry. Before that, Prince played more PG than he did PF. I think it affected the defense more than just the actual one-on-one mad defense on Duncan. I just thought it was an extremely questionable move that did affect the direction of the game.
But again, it's easy for me to claim that after the fact, so I don't know...
The 2 best for sure ...Horry doesnt nail that 3 ..tim has one less le. Horry doesnt hit that 3 agoinst Sacto 2 seasons before that, the Lakers dont 3 peat.
Horry needs a jersey in the rafters in both staples and AT&T sure he was no great player ... no way Kobe,SHAQ, DUNCAN or Manu win as many les without him ...
No one had seen it even at Bama!!...it's like Rob knew it was his last grand stage ... and he seized it. Again not a great player but he was not just clutch 3's. He has made plenty of clutch blocks, steal and rebounds as well. that game he put it ALL together including a surprisingly emphatic dunk.
One of the best "ugly Finals series" ...
2010 was the hardest. The only games exciting enough to watch in 2005 were games 5 and 7.
2004 was the hardest to take.
True. Horry is a badass.......no doubt!!!!

They did not have that game 5 OT win though like the HOrry game! I know I am a fan, but to me that was the best finals since the 00 times! 05 was the best and hardest drug out IMO! That shyt was a damn war.See LA and Spurs fans can agree there! Thats 100% true.
hocky ain't that boring as some re s think it is, the game itself maybe but when you watch a NHL game you know a brawl is possibly coming on and the game will then turn into a WWE-style exhibition
no...it was a beatdown that was mercifully over in 5 games.
Nothing will ever compare to the nutpunch that is Game 4 of the 2008 Finals. I felt nauseous and didn't wanna talk to anyone for a week. Losing to the Celtics only compounded it. Worst sports memory for me since 99.
"The Forum is shut down."
I miss Elie's swagger. The Spurs haven't really had that since. Prolly closest they've come was Horry.
Come to think of it, you are so ing right.
2005 or 2010 Finals, only two to go to 7 games. I'll take the homer pick but 2010 was a good series from a basketball perspective.
84-69 (15 pts)
97-76 (21 pts)
96-79 (17 pts)
102-71 (31 pts)
96-95 (1 pt)
95-86 (9 pts)
81-74 (7 pts)
92-84 (8 pts)
95-93 (2 pts)
88-86 (2 pts)
86-83 (3 pts)
112-103 (9 pts)
105-95 (10 pts)
judging by scoring margins, the second mentions series would seem to be much more entertaining.
and then lets add story lines to them. the first series had...... well.. virtually nothing. people were more interested in the ongoing Shaq/Kobe feud. oh and i think Sheed guaranteed a victory, that was pretty entertaining.
then there was the whole "Big 3" thing going on in the latter series, a finals rematch, and 2 long-time superstars going for their first championship, after failing the first time around (Dirk and Lebron).
you tell me, who is being the homer?
no one said it was epic. its just you overreacting like usual to the fact that you felt someone dismissed the spurs and gave the mavs credit, even though that wasnt the case at all.
DPGs response - "that doesnt make sense"
, a legit claim can be made that the 2004 finals was more entertaining than the 2005 finals, simply due to the many storylines involved, in particular the demise of the Lakers.
It's because it doesn't make sense. You've turned into a little whiny b who uses generic throw away lines constantly.
This thread was about hard fought and great finals and someone brought up the Mavs when it wasn't that great. I never even said a word about the Spurs and their finals at all bc objectively I know they weren't up there (even if they produced iconic moments). I even said the Mavs series was goodso what the f*ck are you talking about girl?
It's also hilarious how I'm prob the #1 spur fan on the site for respecting Dirk and the Mavs. Ive been sticking up for Dirk long before he rang.
You bring absolutely nothing to the table, and after all the crying you do on a daily basis about cully and guys like that, its pretty ironic for you to call anyone whiny. You were trying to get them banned because you think they are legitimately bad people. Pull your head out of your ass, you midget crybaby .
All I said was that the 2005 Finals was massively overrated, it was a series of blowouts, with ONE good, hard fought game sandwiched between, and an okay game 7 that was completely marred with a storm of foul calls all over the place, instead of letting the guys play. The series itself was a mound of sloppy, boring basketball that only Piston/Spur fans could truly love to have watched. The 2010 series was the best finals of this decade, and its not even close. But in the next tier down, I would say that this years finals would be next in line, mainly due to the closeness of the games and the storylines involved. But in general, most of the finals this decade were pretty average to completely ty overall.
Storylines? Margins of victory determining the entertaining value of a game? Look brah, we're all on this site because we're not average fans. A good ball game is a good ball game, there doesn't need to be a WWE storyline or anything. I mean the Mavericks butt ed the out of the Lakers and that was entertaining as to watch, even though the margin of victory in the last game was 30+, same with the Boston-LA finals where the Celtics absolutely destroyed the Lakers.
This is about hardest fought...and while the first 4 games weren't exceptionally close, the last 3 were absolutely dog fights that could've been defined by a single possession. Not saying the Mavericks/Heat didn't fight hard, but LeBron played like a little , there's no denying his nut sack shriveled massively in that series and him not playing up to the level we all know he is capable of brings the wow factor down a little bit. If Wade and Bron were putting up 30 a game and Dirk was going ape and still won, I'd agree with you.
If we're going to talk about "most entertaining NBA Finals" from the last decade I'd take either Mavs/Heat finals' or the 2003 Finals (homer pick I know, but this was my most entertaining to watch personally because Duncan was at his peak and absolutely destroying the opposition).
