That is going to be a MASSIVE recruiting weekend.
Wheeler is a good thought but I think the mystery guy is at a position of need. If anything, I'm hoping the transfer of Jones will open up a slot for ATH Corey Coleman.
That is going to be a MASSIVE recruiting weekend.
Reported last night that he did not practice Tuesday. He was standing on the sidelines with a brace around his knee and he was on crutches throughout the weekend. My guess is he doesn't play and UT runs the ball a ton against Tech.
Here's a kicker UT may be looking at as a preferred walk-on:

The staff may tell him he needs to seek playing time elsewhere.
Update on DT Tomme Mark of Lufkin...he says he has yet to come in contact with anyone on the staff directly, but his coach has been communicating with Bo Davis. Still nothing to report as far as an offer goes, but Mark said recently that he'd jump all over a scholarship if the Longhorns came calling.

DGB's first playoff games is tonight and DeSoto vs. Longview is on Fox Sports Southwest tomorrow night.
Great news tonight. ATH Corey Coleman talked to Darrell Wyatt recently and was told "don't be surprised if you receive an offer next week." Coleman was scheduled to be in Norman this weekend for OU/A&M but his father had to work.
WR Thomas Johnson and LB Peter Jinkens had their Under Armour All-American ceremony this evening:

DB Adrian Phillips has been cleared to play against Tech.
BFLT answered prayer? I certainly hope this happens.

DGB's team won 21-2 last night so their next game will be Monday, 11/7, against an undefeated Union team. We'll see what happens.
i hope he is optimism is justified on coleman, peat and DGB.

JS: So what have you heard? We haven’t done a percentage piece for recruiting in a while, so any thoughts would be appreciated.
BC: The next commit will probably be Corey Coleman. The coaches love his playmaking on the offensive side of the ball, and he’s probably the best pure cover guy on the board. He’s versatile. Call it 75%. The next kid should be an offensive lineman. Out of the out of state kids, I’ve heard Searels is quietly confident on Andrus Peat. Call it 60% for now and it skyrockets if he gets on campus. He knows he can play right away. As for the other out of state kids I think they’re a pipe dream with the exception of Green-Beckham. He loves our staff and loves our offense. Call it 40% right now.
There's a poster over on OB that said basically the same exact thing about Peat yesterday before this report was published. He claims to be "in the know" with that recruitment, but you know how that goes.
Good workout video with Bennie Wylie and the WRs:

Article on Texas A&M's financial situation as they head to the SEC next year. Long but informative:

About a 45 min piece from the Longhorn Network. Lots of practice footage:

after reports of 'communication issues' with peat and the staff, it is great to hear sources state searels feels good about his recruitment regardless. if peat is the last blue-chip we land this class i'm more than happy.
It's a shame no one is seeing the LHN. We get the channel in our dorms and I watch it sometimes. It's great for the UT football enthusiasts.
Grande Cable I assume?
**Unfortunately I can't find a list of guys that are attending the Tech game this weekend, but RB Johnathan Gray will be in town with his family. I'll post as soon as I see other names.
**Some official visit news...DE Torshiro Davis, OL/DL Arik Armstead and DB Landon Collins will all be in Tuscaloosa this weekend on their official visits to Alabama. Seemingly every recruit under the sun will be there for that game.
**DE Mario Edwards returned to Tallahassee last week for an unofficial visit to FSU. It was an opportunity for him and his father to meet with the coaching staff and get on the same page with his recruitment. Apparently the FSU staff feels much better now about where they stand with Edwards (he's technically still committed) and two of their coaches will be in attendance at Denton Ryan's game this evening.
**I don't see where this prospect would fit in without more attrition or an early commitment from WR Dorial Green-Beckham to a school other than Texas, but the coaching staff is keeping tabs on WR Marcus Johnson of League City Clear Springs who is currently committed to Texas Tech. He was a no-name prospect for most of the year but people started raving about his ability after the summer camps he attended.

**Lastly, not only is Duane Akina staying in touch with DT Javonte Magee of San Antonio Sam Houston, but he's also requested transcripts and film on his teammate, DB Leo Thomas. Apparently Arizona (who he originally committed to) offered Thomas earlier in the year because Akina pushed them to do so before he ended up returning to UT.
