Its impossible to get wifi to work. its such a struggle. my problem is i cant stick to android full time. its not working that well yet. so i switch back and forth. mostly to charge the battery. android still has that problem with the battery life. how do you set up wifi? it just keeps connecting forever and freezing.
same issue and the google docs app fc's immediately. Gonna have to keep using webOS for a while. Oh go to engadget and check out the article on superNOTE for the Asus tablets. I NEED that app NOW!

My wifi works fine, but I have to unpair, then repair my BT keyboard every new time I try to connect it. I am sticking with WebOS mostly for the moment. COMEON ICS SOURCE CODE!

Pretty funny (or sad) that HP tells everyone "so sorry, we're not going to have any more to sell you, after all" and now both Best Buy AND Walmart will sell you one at firesale pricing if you buy a freaking HP laptop. Return the laptop, tho, and they charge you $600 for the TouchPad.

    you very much, HP.

They've also opened up the developer purchase program again, so I guess you could try registering as a dev and getting one that route. "Hey developers, we got something you'll want, a tablet we've abandoned." Maybe the few real devs can make a little money selling the extra units.

Finally got CyanogenMod running on my touchpad. Its awesome. Loving it a lot. Only had a wifi hiccup like most people have had. Was able to fix it with an app. I'm verypleased with android. Pulse news reader looks awesome on here. Glad I'm able to get netflix and spotify on here even though I have spotify on webos.

Edit* Just when I say the wifi is working, it craps out.

saw a 32gig model at best buy the other day and when i asked the guy about it he said, "yeah, we have to sell it for retail price and not for that firesell price", then i asked how long has that one model been there and he said forever.

I really enjoy mine. No complaints and eagerly awaiting the first version of a ROM with ICS. I'm on the 2nd alpha as I never the need to upgrade since wifi worked fine for me.

I lied. Battery life could be much better. I hope that is fixed with ICS. Otherwise, one of the best purchases I ever made.

Maybe I should downgrade to 3.0 and see if the wifi works. I'm also waiting for ICS. But the developers who work on this are impressive. Can't wait to see what comes out next year. It just sucks not having a working wifi at time!

I am telling you, try XRON-ified. It was a big jump from CM 2.1 to whatever version of Xronified was around at the time. I haven't looked back. The worst I have with wifi is that I have to cycle it sometimes (turn wifi off then back on), but this is pretty rare. The newest version has the ICS launcher and app drawer so you can get a taste of it.

I'm new to all this stuff so it takes me a little while to figure everything out. I know you have to download an emulator but I never even used it. I somehow was able to get CM running.

I was following this guide http://rootzwiki.com/_/articles/your...u-a-guide-r257 and when I got to to restarting the tp part, I unplugged it from the computer and did steps 8 and 9. Then once the usb signal came up I plugged it back in and did step 11. Not too sure if your had to use the emulator to restart it, but I was able to get it to work none the less. What was (is) the purpose of the emulator?

    9. As soon as the screen goes dark, start holding the Volume Up button — don’t let go until you see a big USB symbol on your display.
    10. Your computer might take a moment to recognize the TouchPad.
    11. Once it’s recognized, open a terminal and navigate to the Palm Novacom directory. On a Windows computer you can do this by following these steps

Do you have any links for the XRON-ified? I also didn't back anything up. haha

ok, if you went through all of the steps and installed everything that you were supposed to (moboot, Clockworkmod Recovery, etc) then it should be substantially easier for you. the link to DL Xron can be found here . Once you have DLed this, put it on the root of your SD card (i.e. not in any folder). If you download this file from your touchpad it will be found in the "downloads" folder and you can move it using any file manager. You probably have ES file manager in your app drawer. Once it is on the root of the SD card you want to reboot. Hold the power button down, select reboot, then reboot to recovery. Once you have done this, your TP will shut down then reboot into a screen that only has a text interface. You use your volume buttons to go up and down and your home button to select. You will want to do a clean install so first you want to do ..... This is going to go on for a LOOONG time to type out, even though it is a 3-4 minute process, so let me just wait until I get home and make a video and post it on youtube. Or you can go read XDA about how to install a ROM.

pretty good. I have never been left feeling like I needed to baby it. Then again, I may use it differently than you do. I would say somewhere between 7-9 hours. I am not completely sure since i have never had to worry about it. I do know that it barely looses any power while asleep

Thanks for the tips. You don't need to explain everything or make a video. I was able to follow all the instructions for CM so I just needed a link to the version you were talking about.

I'm at the xda forum then I went here. http://www.androidfilehost.com/main/...base_XRONified

I'm not too sure which version I should download. Do I download the last one? It seems to be the most recent.

I already have CM 7.1.0 installed so I guess I just follow these instructions.

    1) Download the latest version either on your Touchpad or computer
    2) If you already have CM7 or XRONified installed, place the above zip on the root directory of your Touchpad
    3) Reboot in to recovery
    4) Wipe cache AND dalvik cache (under advanced menu option)
    5) Flash zip. (if you are coming from CM7 you MUST wipe factory reset/cache/dalvik first)

ok, so I was assuming you knew NOTHING so I was trying to spell it out very simply. Yes, those instructions work, I do a factory reset every time I flash a ROM regardless of if I am simply upgrading my current rom or not. Some say this is overkill, I say I would rather decrease the possibility of bugs. Just know that when you do a factory reset you lose all of your apps or data unless you back them up (I use anium backup to do this.). Let me know if you have any other questions.

Oh yea, sorry. I am running the newest (2.8) right now but I just loaded it up this morning, so I don't have a lot to say about it yet. I was running 2.6 before and it ran pretty well. When it says to "flash a zip" it means boot into recovery do all of your wiping, then select install zip from SD card > Choose zip from SD card > then select the file that you are trying to install (i.e. XRONified_vB2.8_Odex-bloat.zip) then it will install Xron on your device.

XRON-ified is just like an add on to CM 7 right? Like I said I'm new to this. Just to make things clear. I have CM 7.1.0 running right now. Installed it yesterday following this guide. To get XRON-ified, just download XRONified_vB2.8_Odex-bloat.zip from the website. Save it to my touchpad. It seems that is the easiest way to do it. Then follow these steps?

    3) Reboot in to recovery
    4) Wipe cache AND dalvik cache (under advanced menu option)
    5) Flash zip. (if you are coming from CM7 you MUST wipe factory reset/cache/dalvik first)

I should also do a backup of the apps i already have installed with anium backup.

Its not an add on, it will completely replace CM7, though it is based off of CM7 (basically the developer started with CM7, then developed from there like a fork in the development road). Your steps are correct, though for clarity's sake I will make a slight change.

    3) Reboot in to recovery
    4) Wipe cache AND dalvik cache (under advanced menu option)
    4a) Factory reset.
    5) Flash zip.

    Question for y'all tablet users.

What are you find yourself doing on your tablets? I was gonna get the ASUS Transformer Prime, just because I could (Christmas, my birthday, wanted a new toy). However, I only see myself reading books or maybe browsing when I don't want to grab my laptop of my smartphone. Have you found your tablet actually replacing things you did on your smartphone/laptop?

I owned a tablet for 10 days before returning it

At 1st I was like: cool, browsing from my couch, convenient, blabla

But then I realised I didnt really need, with a laptop and a dumbphone, I'm all set

Of course, if I get one for free/gift, I would find a use for it
