Even ignoring American lives, a full scale invasion of Japan would have also resulted in thousands of innocent Japanese deaths. There was no way around it.

Wow you are dumb. That's the definition of deplete, a verb. I used depleted, the adjective.

Definition

Was the Iraqi military not "less than before" the Persian Gulf War?
verb (used with object), -plet·ed, -plet·ing.
lol you are just helping yourself more and more. lol. even your definition has to do with mass and not quality. lmao. Good luck graduating.
Thousands of innocent Japanese deaths? Probably. But compared to the bombs?
http://www.aasc.ucla.edu/cab/200708230009.html
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trinity_(nuclear_test)The real mortality of the atomic bombs that were dropped on Japan will never be known. The destruction and overwhelming chaos made orderly counting impossible. It is not unlikely that the estimates of killed and wounded in Hiroshima (150,000) and Nagasaki (75,000) are over conservative.
Considering that the Iraq War has been going on for 8+ years, and has only reached a death toll of 100K (which includes all violent deaths, not just coalition forces), I would say there's a good chance that not dropping the nukes would've prevented a good number of innocent deaths. The atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki killed at least 148,000 people immediately and many more over time. By 1950, the death toll was over 340,000.[42]
Ln, how the do you compare lives lost in Iraq to how many deaths there would be if America had invaded cities like Tokyo? Do you have any idea how tightly people are packed in Japan? It would have been a show worse than Normandy Beach and trying to liberate Europe (and we wouldn't have had European allies helping us).
Yeah, as in it can also be past tense (depleted). The definition you posted didn't use depleted as an adjective. This is basic grammar.
verb (used with object)DOK: with a depleted military
If it were used as an adjective, then you would have to say depletable or depletive. I suggest you look up transitive verbs and visit amazon. The latter to buy some Mad libs. There you can work on your "basic grammar". Good luck to you.
Anyways. To all the veterans in WW2, Korea, and Vietnam. Those were real wars. Thank you for creating the culture and at ude that helps mold the military of today in the greatest fighting force in the world. Those were real wars and I saw and did alot but couldn't imagine what you all had to go through. To all the Veterans since there has not been a draft: thank you. You carried on the prestige of the military to when I came in, nothing needed to be built up. Just maintained. We have it pretty good compared to all other vets from other wars but it still is difficult to leave family for a year and go to a war zone. Yeah we had rip its and equipment to keep us warm, dry, comfortable and protected. But still for anyone who knows the terms "hero flight"; "chicken nuggets", "TBI" and "black-out" to name a few god bless you. Although for whatever reasons, some will mock your dedication for your fallen brothers and your appreciation for the American flag, they will never come close to understanding why. They will assume it is some kind of blind indoctrination. But, since there is no way to explain any of it to people who weren't there, that is all they will be able to do. God bless all going to the fiddlers green. Any veteran, when I come to SA, has a drink on me. Domestic or well.
From a Thank You to an English lesson...yep, I'd say this thread is done. Again, I'll say it's tragic that people had to come in this thread and pervert its purpose because they disagree with the premise. This isn't about Iraq or English lessons..it's about people recognizing the sacrifice of a group of individuals. If you don't recognize or support it that's fine...but it's classless and immature to intentionally derail a thread for those who do.
I would hope in the future that certain posters choose to take their bashing to another thread. I realize that's probably hoping too much, but I've always been an optimist.

so you don't think that having a strong military has prevented other attacks?
My front door hasn't done jack for me since that one time someone tried breaking it down.
LoL thinking there isn't tens of thousands(conservative estimate) of former/current military members that are smarter than you.
Agreed. But if they wanted to prevent innocent lives lost, then they would've got in and done the fighting on the ground. That's kinda my point; we all weigh and balance different things with regards to cost. Leadership during WWII weighed the cost of hundreds of thousands of innocent Japanese against the thousands of American servicemembers that would die in a war (not to mention time, money, other resources) and determined that the bomb was the better option.
War ing sucks. We should avoid it whenever we have that option. President Bush and Congress voted us into war in 2003, and I've long disagreed with the reasons for that war.
But to say that all military are idiots for signing up, or that they're all psychopaths, etc etc, is a completely different argument. To say that the military at large loves shooting innocents is a different argument. To say that the war in Iraq is no different from Nazi Germany is a different argument. Those are the ones I'm arguing against you with; not whether or not it was a good idea to get into Iraq in the first place.
I don't care if this is just trolling in here but either way you have to be pretty low piece of s to derail this topic.
It's fine, don't support the war, but support the troops you bags. Or stop freeloading on their sacrifices, most likely no one would miss you here anyway.
Anyway...Thanks to all our vets, most of us still honor ,support , and appreciate all of your sacrifices.
Flame away Internet bully brigade if it makes you feel better, i'm done with this thread.
I don't see us honoring our front doors twice a year like they're doing something extremely honorable.
English lesson to thank you.
If they were people, you might stop by and say thanks for them once in a while. Heck, people thank their pets for barking at intruders.![]()
Germany didn't attack us...
that bro
You cannot kill the red herrings as they are his only defense. The "what about..." defense is the mark of a weak argument.
What about that?
Keep pulling for your friend. He's long gone though, been buried under for pages and pages so bad that someone else had to start a new thread to try to rescue his dignity.
Also, he doesn't know when to stop digging.
Oh, but it's cute how you create this facade that someone other than you few are getting their pushed in.
Too late, you rushed in with the emergency for your baby boy.
BUMP that
Get on AIM DAWG!!!!
Krew actually tried to troll, then gets butthurt in the actual troll thread.![]()
Notice the ones who detected it early and abandoned it (with their main accounts).
18 pages later and the truth still stands. A lot of young men and women were trolled into joining the military and participating in the slaughter of millions in order to serve a few powerful interests. Sad day for America.
I told every branch of the military to off and die 4 years ago when I was fresh out of high school and I'd still do the same today tbh. No way in I'm risking my life for some bull , call me whenever there's a real threat so I can start packing my for Canada tbh. This country is so hated around the globe because of all the meddling we do, we should stop that or the fallout is our own fault.
