seems funny to me that Scout bumped him up to 4 stars almost as soon as rumors came out that UT was talking to him.
one of the Tech boards says D Wheeler might be also be getting wooed by UT again. yay, maybe he'll get his 5th star back.
No, he's still committed to Tech.
He had plans to go to the UT/K-State game, but he has a Saturday afternoon playoff game this weekend. Probably won't make it unless he comes in for the second half and stays afterwards to meet the staff.

Per Hook 'Em 24/7 and OL/DL Arik Armstead's father, an official visit to UT has been "tentatively set" for the team's banquet weekend on December 9th and 10th. More details to come out later.
I checked the basketball schedule and UT will be hosting Texas State that Saturday evening. Not sure when or where the football banquet takes place, but Armstead could have the opportunity to catch a game in The Drum.
RB Traylon Shead will be visiting Colorado later this week. If some of you don't remember, UT's former wide receivers coach, Bobby Kennedy, now works on the CU staff and knows most of the Texas players well. That program is awful but he could see playing time pretty quickly after sitting out a year.
Hook 'Em 24/7 just retracted this report. DT Brandon Moore will NOT be visiting UT this weekend and said he's hasn't been in touch with UT that much at all lately. Much different from what was reported yesterday and late last week, but that's that.
Coach says Moore would take Texas offer(11/15/11)
AUSTIN, Texas -- The Longhorns would have a very good chance at landing junior college defensive tackle Brandon Moore (Scooba, Miss./East Mississippi Community College) if they want him, according to EMCC coach Buddy Stephens.
Moore, who signed with Alabama out of Montgomery (Ala.) Carver High School in 2009, has a really good relationship with Texas defensive tackles coach Bo Davis, who was on the Crimson Tide’s staff at the time Moore signed.
“I know that if that is the way Texas wants to go, then Brandon Moore will be all over it,” Stephens said. “He wants to play for Bo Davis. I don’t know where Texas is with an offer, but it they do [offer Moore] he will be at the University of Texas.”

Elysian Fields 2013 DT Isaiah Golden might take unofficial visit to this weekend's game. Im worried about the DT for the 2013, hope this one works out.
Oh wow!! This seems HUGE!!! The first thing that popped into my head when I read this was, "Why did he leave Alabama?? Did he have any problems? If he did, will Mack offer??"

Golden is a must for 2013. Hopefully he can find a ride to Austin this weekend.
Color me confused on DT Brandon Moore. Makes you wonder who's talking to who as these reports have been different.
It's possible Moore didn't pass the vetting process because things were heating up quickly and seemed to stop abruptly. Maybe Mack saw something he didn't like, the staff didn't want to risk taking another DT and upsetting a guy like Malcom Brown or they feel like they have a good enough shot with Javonte Magee. Who knows.
Interesting. Gerry Hamilton implied and down that Moore got dismissed at Alabama for minor offenses. Something like several minor violations of team rules. It sounds kind of odd to me. It seems like it would take a lot for such a promising player to get kicked out of Alabama. Agreed there could be more to the story.
Malcom Brown is good enough to start at Texas right now, but I hope a starting spot wasn't promised to him. I like the mix of Brown, Whaley, Doresey and Howell at DT next year, but I think a JUCO DT could help. I'd be pretty surprised if another JUCO DT popped up on the radar. I'd be all for taking Damien Jacobs if it got us Denico Autry.
When was the last time Texas recruiting was this exciting in mid November? Probably never. Hook 'Em.
Speaking of DT Javonte Magee, news coming down today that he will take official visits to A&M, Baylor and Texas. Alabama and LSU are also possibilities but him wanting to remain close to his mother is helping the in-state schools. No dates have been set but hopefully things will pick up a bit now that Sam Houston is out of the playoffs.
You have your answer to the Brandon Jacobs mystery right there.
Could be. I'm just curious which position the staff wants Magee at. You have three DTs already in the mix and many feel he'll make a great LT. I guess he can viewed as a jumbo athlete that you place where he's needed most.
Rumors out there that Gus Malzahn is going to take the North Carolina job.
Larry Fedora (Southern Miss) and Hugh Freeze (Arkansas State) are leaders for the Ole Miss job.
Interesting Facebook post from ATH Kendall Sanders tonight. The staff has been in contact with his coach lately:
"Decisions, decisions. You get only once chance Kendall, don't mess this up."
Is Kendall psyching himself up in front of a mirror?
are you saying kendall posted this? or his coach? just wondering if he is pulling a george costanza referring to himself in 3rd person.
I saw this Recruitocosm twitter post just up as well --
"Soooo, we haven't talked about Kendall Sanders in a while. I think that's going to change shortly."
Sanders posted that to his Facebook. He could be talking about absolutely anything, but I'm hoping UT offered or is close to offering him.
Per Hook 'Em 24/7, it's been confirmed that WR Dorial Green-Beckham and his family will be visiting Austin this weekend. UT is ready to roll out the red carpet.
Mizzou coach, Gary Pinkel, was arrested for DWI last night:

Any news on Shipley and our backs?
Unfortunately not. The staff won't release that info. We'll have to wait and see who goes in when the game starts just like last week.
I would like to think this gives Tech some kind of advantage this weekend, but at best, I think instead of getting beat by 30, the Raiders get beat by 29.
