Stern has made himself sound like a royal face throughout this entire process.
Ovaltine
Geritol
Depends
Those poor, powerless owners! At the mercy of those thugs and ruffians!
I've tried it off & on for 50+ years and I still can't get the er to actually taste like something.
, I'm runnin' out of time.
Try some vodky with it.
Stern. He is the cause of this . Of course the small part of the owners he chose to represent also ed it up but he was the one being an ass about it.
^That small contingent has grown tired of taking it up the ass. I don't blame them. I just don't want my ox getting gored. & in order for them to get straightened out I'm going to have to get busted. No thanks.
Oh well. the NBA and for what it's worth.
I lol'ed
Would you prefer;
#1) No NBA season for a year or two...and then the league returns without Stern---because the owners get fed up with his bull ...and the courts recognize Stern dealt in bad-faith?
#2) The players take it up the ass now...and we have an NBA season with Stern running everything?
I will gladly wait a year or two to get rid of that smoker.
^I want to see basketball ASAP, just without a hard cap, or, punitive luxury tax. & that's all the players want as well.
Stern can stay and it can still be business as usual.
The NBA is oversight for the franchises like the government is oversight for the banks.
Both allow those under their watch to construct questionable deals that will eventually lead to insolvency, but they expect that they can just squeeze that from the workers and the consumers, so gambling is no longer a gamble for the rich.
Neither are concerned with the consumer, though their lip service says otherwise until the chips are down.
We saw how that worked out recently and who got the ty end of the stick.
stern will just get replaced by another got
This he lost touch with them (players) ...last decade
Stern has been on such a "NBA for the World" kick in the past 10 years that he's imagined he's above the franchises, the owners and the players. He makes an absurd amount of money for what he does. If franchises are suffering, why is he so ing well paid?
They should can most of the incredibly outlandish fines (500,000 for talking or 100K for mentioning a ref during a press conference). He's set the standard for overpaying for everything, now he wants the player to back down.
I don't know how he can recover from this, even if there is an agreement, he's come across as a pompous prick throughout.
On the other coast, Kings forward DeMarcus Cousins was frustrated as well, as are a number of younger players, he told the Sacramento Bee.
“Some of the young players I talked to, it’s not about the money. We just want to go out there and play ball,” Cousins said. “For me, it’s knocking off time for me to be improving as a player. This whole situation is really not helping out us younger players.”
Right. So sign the deal and start cashing checks - for playing basketball.
Getting paid millions to play basketball is a tremendously great concept. I'd love to do that myself.
Why these morons are passing up this opportunity is absolutely beyond me. It absolutely defies reality.
The only positive thing to come out of this debacle is a quicker exit for Stern. An extremely pompous dude. Ever condescending, ever vainglorious.
Never met a camera he didn't like. I for one will not miss that smug face one iota.
Kudos to the players for being dumbasses and leaving money on table and not realizing that the courts will not help them.
Kudos idiots!
