I wish this report was coming from David Smoak himself. The guy is dead on with recruits in Sanders' part of the world. Still encouraging. I know my readers, and many of the 'Cosm's readers LOVE Sanders.
If Bible and/or Cotton are gone, please take Brandon Moore. Texas would be devoid of dead weight at a position that has a long history of dead weight in the program. I'm waiting on the official commitment announcement. Maybe Moore wants to talk it over with his family and coach before making a statement. Would be a huge pick up. The young man played on the national champion Alabama team as a true frreshman in 2009.
Glad to hear the Hawkins visit went so well. Hawkins should be Stacy's top priority now. I expect Texas will stay on him, and hopefully we'll wrap this one up in December.
DGB befriending other recruits interested in Texas is all kinds of good.

The coaches have some tough choices to make. I love Marcus Johnson's game, but I'd have to put him behind Sanders and Coleman because they could play multiple positions at Texas. Johnson is a WR all the way, so it doesn't give Texas much flexibility.
My feeling is that Johnson is either the DGB back up plan OR they're expecting more attrition at WR. I don't think they can take both.
He sat with Gray and Hawkins all night.
**More on WR Marcus Johnson...according to him, he got to Austin around halftime and said he enjoyed the visit. He talked with Applewhite after the game was over and was told that UT is looking to take two more WRs and that he, Sanders and DGB are at the top of their list. He was told that he'll know more about a potential offer this week. The thought is Johnson's offer relies on how the staff feels about their chances with DGB, but there's also a possibility that UT offers Johnson outright to get him wrapped up and just hopes to win the lottery with DGB (he's a bonus commitment at this point). The staff is simply looking to scoop up playmakers right now at the WR position and numbers aren't a huge concern. The consenus is Johnson will switch to UT upon being offered.
**DT Javonte Magee's visit to College Station was an official. He did not commit and is still looking to schedule visits to Baylor and Texas.
**DT Brandon Moore says he did not commit to UT last night but it appears an offer is on the table. The story is being reported as if the ball is in UT's court. Moore ends up at Texas as long as the staff finds no issues with grades, behavior, etc.
Rumor out there that DB Adrian Colbert attended the Baylor game last night despite saying he was too sick to visit UT. We'll see if he addresses that this week.
Some quotes from OL Donald Hawkins after his official visit to UT:
"What stood out was the hospitality. Texas, it's a nice place to live, a nice place to go to school," Hawkins said. "It was a really good visit."
"Right now, I'm pretty high on Texas. And I'm pretty high on Oklahoma State. After this visit, I like Texas a lot," Hawkins said.
"The chances of me playing here are very high. The expectations of me here are very high. I was impressed with the recruiting class they have coming in. By my senior year, the should be a national championship contender. That's something I want. Another thing that stood out to me was how the players embraced me. They made me feel welcome. They want me to come here, said they need me. They said the missing link is me. I was impressed by that."
"Me and coach Brown sat down and talked not too long before I left. Coach Brown and coach Searels both said the expectation were very high. Coach Brown said he hasn't really recruited a JUCO guy in 14 years. With the recruiting class they have coming in, with Malcolm Brown being here, the defense is playing great, all they need is an offensive tackle."
"We all became good friends. Yesterday they (the coaches) said they were missing that big play receiver, missing the offensive tackle," Hawkins said. "We (he and Green-Beckham) both talked, and Texas is a good fit. We both play at positions they need. The expectations are high for both of us to come in and play."
More smoke that DT Brandon Moore has committed to Texas. A teammate of his at East Mississippi CC said today that he gave his verbal commitment to UT last night but Moore continues to deny that.
I took this picture last night:

Please tell me the children in the picture are in Dorial's family. Excellent picture Mex.
Hornsnation is saying a Vols commit is hearing from Texas. I can't read the article, but it has to be McNeil right?
It is McNeil.
Thanks a lot for that pic, Mex. That'll start showing up on other sites soon. Do you attend the home games?
I believe those kids are the younger family members that have been reported to wear UT gear a lot. I remember seeing an article where the US Army All-American reps had them change out of their UT gear before taking a picture of the Beckham family.
Quotes from WR Marcus Johnson after the K-State game. He's referring to the off-season in the last line because League City Clear Springs was knocked out of the playoffs on Saturday:
"It was great," Johnson said of the visit. "I got there at halftime because of our game. The atmosphere was crazy. I heard the cannons, looking at the players, being right by action was great. After the game I got to go in the locker room, talk to the guys. It was a tough loss but being around them and being with them was great."
"I shook hands with Mack Brown after the game and talked a little bit but he had to go talk to the press," Johnson said. "I talked with coach (Major) Applewhite most of the time. He was disappointed about the loss but he was saying hopefully they can get me up there. He said I should know something by this coming week and to stay in touch with him."
"I'm still committed (to Texas Tech) but I'm very interested in Texas," Johnson said. "Hopefully I get an offer. If it happens, then we'll cross that bridge."
"Basically I'll be getting right back to work. I want to keep my body right, continue to work hard," Johnson said. "I have track season coming up, but I'll continue to work out and get ready for college."

Can you link that? I'm either blind or it's not on the main ticker anymore.
Yes, I do. I haven't missed a Texas game in Texas in four years and I even get paid for it. Dream job. I work with the film crew.
That's awesome, man. Thanks again. Keep giving us reports/pics after each game if you have the time. I believe the recruits sit in that section directly behind where DGB and Gray are standing.

You probably missed it because it's not in the le.

QB Case McCoy is listed as the starter for A&M.
last i heard Connor Brewer will be enrolling early and will be avail for spring ball. anybody know if this is confirmed 100%? , hopefully Overstreet comes in early as well...
and damn DGB looks good flashing the horns sign. i mean damn good.
I can't say 100%, but he's always planned to enroll early. I imagine he has extra motivation to do so with the complete mess that is UT's QB situation right now.
